Northstar Football News has released its updated team rankings for all seven classes of Minnesota high school football. After a wild opening week reset rankings in many classes, the lists stabilized after a Week 2 without many upsets.
Lakeville North’s win over Eden Prairie was one of the few exceptions. The No. 4 Panthers stymied the second-ranked Eagles in a 14-0 shutout win at home. Brian Vossen’s crew scored all its points in the third quarter on a pair of Brian Curtis Jr. touchdown runs. The win boosts North to second in Class AAAAAA behind Minnetonka.
The No. 1 teams at every level remain unchanged from last week. The Skippers were the closest to being knocked off, but rallied with a 53-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Aaron Syverson to Braden Fiske to defeat Wayzata 27-24 and retain the Bay Bell for another season.
