Edwards provided the Polars with a spark in the 4th quarter with two big catches for over 60 yards. This sophomore has great potential, and excellent hands which I look forward to seeing more of thru this season and his future with the North St. Paul Polars.
Jamonte Franklin, Running Back, Simley
Franklin is apart of that deep running back core that the Simley Spartans possess. This kid runs extremely hard, and does a great job running in between the tackles. His 1-2 punch with Hope Adebayo, kind of has a Sony Michel/James White approach to it as you don’t know what outstanding tailback you are going to get any given play.
Brenden Lankford-Johnson, Wide Receiver, North St. Paul
Aside from Edwards, Langford-Johnson was another spark for the Polars on Friday night at wide receiver. Langford-Johnson already has one football offer from Minnesota-Crookston, and it shows why. His leaping ability and has good hands should lead him to more offers coming this year.
Crist Pugh, Wide Receiver, Simley
Pugh recorded over 20 yards per catch against the Polars defense and added a TD as well. His crisp route running gave him the separation he needed to get in the end zone for the Spartans. Pugh was also outstanding on defense as well against the Polars.
Hope Adebayo, Running Back, Simley (My Offensive Game Ball of the Week)
Adebayo is the full package for the Spartans. You need him in the backfield? Excellent. You need him to catch passes? He can do that too. Although somewhat undersized, Adebayo is the full package for the Spartans and runs the ball extremely well between the tackles and he great up the field speed. He s my offensive player of the week for this one with 2 TD (1 rushing, 1 receiving).
