Nate’s Big Dogs of the Week: Milaca/Annandale-Offense
These are the six players I feel were the top performers in the game between Milaca and Annandale on Saturday night.
Alan Luna, WR/RB, Senior, Annandale
-Luna was a huge factor in the passing game in the 2nd half. This kid has lightning speed and acceleration when he scored his one touchdown.
Logan Molacek, WR, Senior, Milaca
-Although it didn’t come easy, Molacek had three catches against the very strong Annandale pass defense. Molacek’s leadership and height (6’2) will be missed for the Wolves next year.
CJ Kuser, RB, Junior, Annandale
-His last name is Kuser, but I call him “The Cruiser”. Kuser started the tempo off strong for the Cardinals to start the game with bolting for a 53-yard run to get to the Wolves 3 yard line. Between him and Luna, I’ve never seen this kind of downhill speed in 3A football with two running backs on one roster.
Henry Truebenbach, RB, Senior, Milaca
-Truebenbach was the meat of this Milaca Wolves offense last night. Had the only touchdown on a 25-yard sprint to the end zone and also had over 100 yards rushing on the night. He gets my nod for Milaca’s overall MVP on the night, Truebenbach’s rushing efforts will be missed for Milaca as he was a 1000 yard rusher on the season.
Hawkin Miller, WR, Sophomore, Annandale
-Although there was a lot, Miller was the best receiver for the Cardinals last night. He closed out the first half with a 47-yard scamper to the end zone. I think Miller is something to watch for in the class of 2022 receiver rankings, as his speed along with size, will have college coaches looking.
Offensive MVP: Landon Jones Landon Jones 6'5" | QB Annandale | 2021 State MN , QB, Annandale
-The guy that made it all happen for the Cardinals was Jones. Three touchdowns on the night and over 200 yards passing, Jones gets my Offensive MVP nod for the Milaca/Annandale game. This kid is very accurate and has good pop on his throws. I also liked last night how he spread the love around to many of his receivers. I’d like to see Jones in our 2021 NFN rankings, as I think he’s a “coach’s dream” as far as everything you’d look for in a college quarterback as far as size, strength, accuracy, etc.
