Physical Rushing Attack gets the Awesome Blossoms to the Prep Bowl
After impressive victories in the Quarterfinals, both Ada-Borup and Blooming Prairie would meet up for the chance to go to the finals. Both teams with a run first type of mentality, it shaped up to be another chess match type of game. Blooming Prairie scored on their first drive with RB Matthew Pryor pounding the ball for a 12 yard touchdown. The Awesome Blossoms used the momentum to put up 34 more points with WR Karson Vigeland (10 yd. rec.) from QB Kaden Thomas, Pryor (2 yd. rush), WR Gabe Hagen (47 yd. rec.) from Thomas, Pryor (30 yd. rush), and RB Tyler Archer (1 yd. rush). The Awesome Blossom defense held tight and pitched a shutout over the Ada-Borup Cougars.
Players Highlighted from Blooming Prairie:
Running Back/Linebacker- Matthew Pryor seemed to look for contact to run over any defender in his way for his three touchdowns.
Offensive/Defensive Lineman- Jarret Larson made many tackles for loss and was a really good blocker.
Wide Receiver/Defensive Back- Mitchell Fiebiger was really good in coverage, played in his receivers hip pocket and batted down many passes.
Offensive Line- Dylan Nirk, Ryan Weinberger, Charlie Heimerman, Colton Krell, & Jarret Larson– always have to mention a good group of lineman when a team has a good rushing attack.
Players Highlighted from Ada-Borup:
Running Back- Braiden Fetting was the physical runner in the duo, but could also show speed.
Running Back- Verdis Barber was the speedy runner had some bigger gains.
Tight End/Defensive Lineman- Mason Miller was a good blocker and target, played well on the defensive end.
Offensive Line- Carlos Medina IV, Auston Carlson, Sylas Larson, Dallas Wallace, & Beau Jorgensen– held their own against a good defensive line to keep the rushing attack going forward.
