Getting ahead on the recruiting trail of a future potential highly rated recruit and helping to disperse their film and get their name out there as a underclassmen is a very cooling feeling as a writer in my position. I also can’t help but think a good one has been found with this newest recruit for this report: East Ridge 2022 grad Logan Larson.
Larson tries to knock a pass down. The 6’3, 250 lb. sophomore just finished his second varsity season in the Metro subdistricts and is poised to make some waves coming up in Minnesota after playing varisty ball for the Raptors in 2019. Larson has the measurable and attitude of a future scholarship athlete, and I’m very fortunate to be one of the first writers he contacted. Check out this first-look, exclusive interview with the 2022 grad as we discuss his football career thus far, playing football for East Ridge, and some of his hopes for recruiting. Hope you enjoy!
Larson: “I am originally from Cottage Grove, Minnesota and was planning on playing for Park high school but recently moved to Woodbury, Minnesota. I started playing tackle football in second grade and played up with my brother. This year I was fortunate enough to up with him again at the varsity level. I was the only sophmore (2022) playing at the varsity level this year for East Ridge. I also play basketball and am on Jv/Varsity and we ended up getting 4th in the state tournament my freshman year. The sport of football has given me many great opportunities and the love for the game keeps growing. Friday nights under the lights is one of the best experiences I have ever had. My height and weight is 6´3 240lb bench-240lb squat-300lb deadlift- 340lb 40-5.0 stats: (53 tackles) (15 TFL)(3 FF) (7.5 sacks). I personally had a very good season I had the 2nd most tackels for yards loss in the confrence and made some big plays. The season this year was a great experience and we met many of our goals but missed the state tournament by one game. The best part of the season was playing with my brother this year and catching a passes from him this year. I loved starting at defensive end and fullback along with being the punter. Our final record was 6-4. We succeeded very well at home games.
Larson. The program of East Ridge as a whole has been very secussfull we have had many top athletes in past years and have gone to the state tournament multiple times over the 10-year span it has been open. The offseason programs and summer training is very productive and has helped me to be faster and stronger. the coaching staff is amazing and pushes me every day as so do my teammates. Everyone treats the team like a family and we go all out every day. this offseason I focused on my get off along with speed to better my edge rushing. I also focused on conditioning knowing I was going to have to go both ways this year. The first eight games went very well. We started off slow going 0-2 but picked it up and got closer as a team and ended the last six games 5-1. Our competition was very good this year including two teams that are now in the state championship. In sections, we went 1-1 beating Osseo then losing to Wayzata, although we fell short of the tournament, the season overall went great. I am intrested in many options for teams. I would love to experence football at the next level I would love to play in any school that has faith in me as a football player. I will be going to camps and will love to talk to any coaches this spring.”
