Konnor Aufenthie is a 6’4″, 205 lb. Quarterback for the Marshall Tigers. He helped the Tigers to a 9-1 season, falling one game short of the State Tournament, passing for 1,557 yards and 17 TD’s in his Senior season. I was able to watch one of his games this fall, it was in cold snowy Friday against a good Waseca Blue Jay team. He really stepped up and ran the offense on some good drives leading to scores. He went 12-19 passing for 139 yards and rushing for 1 TD. I was able to catch up with him and interview him on his recent commitment to University of Wisconsin- River Falls (D3). Check it out below!
NFN: Hello Konnor, could you walk us through your recruiting experience?
Aufenthie: My recruiting started with coaches texting me and visiting me at school. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to play college football at that time. Coach Solem from UW- River Falls visited and told me about his school, it lined up perfectly with all my priorities for college. I went on a visit there and met some of the team, we seemed to click right then and there. After that I knew this is where I wanted to be!
NFN: What was the deciding factor for the commitment?
Aufenthie: I chose River Falls because it was the right fit for me. The cost was where I wanted it to be, the town and its people are all close and the atmosphere is just right for me! It’s location is close enough to family and friends for me. The last thing is that the football team is on the brink of something special next season and I want to be apart of it!
NFN: What is one thing you will miss about high school? Both football and school.
Aufenthie: I will miss playing with the team, we had so much fun each season. I will also miss seeing them every day, as well as talking with are amazing coaches and the people supporting us as well. I will miss the people at school too, the teachers were more like friends.
NFN: What are you planning on studying?
Aufenthie: I will try and get a biomedical degree and hopefully get into chiropractic school.
NFN: Is there any other details you would like to add about this process?
Aufenthie: I would like to thank everyone who has helped me be the person who I am today. I would like to thank Christ, friends, family, schoolmates, teachers, and coaches for all the things they have done for me.
