Continue ReadingFlorida is the biggest hotbed for college football recruits, but a lot of guys get overlooked because of the vast number of prospects in this state. In today’s film room series, I’m going to take a look at some guys that are not being mentioned as much as the more highly recruited players in the area. I’m not sure why some of these guys are not getting recruited as they should, these players are every bit as good, but don’t seem to get the notoriety of the others, yet! At Prep Redzone Florida, we are different than most sites where we want to emphasize guys that are not being heavily recruited and try to promote them, so they also get an opportunity to play in college and get the exposure they need and deserve!
Shane Moran- Braden River
Honorable Mention All-State
2019 stats- 87 tkl 4 scks 1 int
5’10 208lbs
I love watching Moran play, he plays the game the right way with a lot of fire and passion. His game is quickness and athleticism and shows the ability to rush from the outside linebacker position, is effective at blitzing and pressuring the quarterback. Has strong hands and is able to post out offensive linemen to shed blocks and find the ball. He is not overly physical, but makes a lot of tackles and rarely misses. Consistently slips blocks and makes plays on the ball carrier. He plays for one of the best linebacker coaches in the area in Coach Post and it shows, Moran plays with a lot of discipline and is rarely caught out of position.

Grady Clower- Wiregrass Ranch
6’1 210lbs
2019 stats-56 tkls, 3 int
With most teams running spread offenses now, Grady Clower’s skill set is a necessity. Wiregrass defensive coordinator Coach Tanner flexed him out a lot to cover the slot because of his athleticism and his ability to play in space. Extremely intelligent and knows his assignments. Is tremendous in pass coverage, sideline to sideline player that has the speed to get to the edge on outside runs. Diagnosis plays quickly and is a sure open-field tackler. Has a quick first step and tracks the ball extremely well. Is an athlete in every sense of the word (14 car 155 yes 3td), has lined up at safety, linebacker, and dabbles on the offensive side of the ball at running back.

Matt Sattinger- Clearwater Countryside
6’1 215lbs
2019 stats- 129 tkls, 2 ff
This kid is the epitome of hard work and put on 25 lbs. this offseason! He’s a tackling machine that quickly diagnosis plays and is like a missile to the ball carrier, bringing bad intentions on every play. He plays physical for size and shoes no hesitation to deliver blows. He shows good key and diagnostic ability and is very instinctive. Doesn’t waste steps and gets from A to B in a hurry. Shows the ability to shoot gaps to make plays in the backfield. Brings good power when tackling because of his quickness and aggressive mentality. Also shows the ability to cover backs out of the backfield consistently.

Noah Kent- Cambridge Christian
6’0 210lbs
2019 stats- 52 tkls, 2scks, 5 PD
Noah Kent is another hard worker that put on 45 lbs. this offseason! This guy loves football and it means something to him, and you see it in the way he plays. No wasted steps and isn’t caught out of position by fakes and misdirection, plays the ball carrier, and plays from inside-out. Has a good ability to drop into coverage trust his eyes and make plays on the ball, also is an outstanding open-field tackler. Kent is very instinctive and consistently snuffs outplays. Not overpowering, but his game relies on quickness, smarts, and taking good angles.
