Running back Demie Sumo Demie Sumo 6'0" | RB Willingboro | 2021 State NJ of Willingboro and Shawnee defensive lineman Mike Jarvis Mike Jarvis 6'5" | DL Shawnee | 2021 State NJ will be heading to some strong programs at the next level.
Let’s begin with Sumo. He scored nine touchdowns as a junior for Willingboro. He was a sought after prospect that was being contacted by many schools. In the end, he chose a program that has ties to New Jersey. N.C. State will be Sumo’s home after his career ends at Willingboro. He is a versatile back that can carry the ball or be used as a receiver out of the backfield. This fits right into N.C. State’s game plan.
“I really like the versatility and how they will use my talent,” Sumo told 247Sports. “I like how they flex out the running back and they run something similar to what we are running in high school, but even if it was not, I can adapt to it. I can do whatever they need me to do. I can adapt.”
Wisconsin is another program that has a history of landing New Jersey players such as Jonathan Taylor. They get another one with standout lineman Mike Jarvis Mike Jarvis 6'5" | DL Shawnee | 2021 State NJ . As a junior, Jarvis played defensive tackle in a four-man front and defensive end in a three man. He finished the season with 87 tackles, five sacks, and four forced fumbles. At 6’5, 250 pounds, Jarvis is a man among boys. He is a difference maker and that will continue at the next level.
Jarvis decided to go with Wisconsin over Rutgers, Nebraska, Virginia, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Florida State, and Buffalo. He is a defensive lineman that will fit right into the style of defensive play in the Big Ten. He is a strong, physical player that is not afraid of contact.
Both Sumo and Jarvis will have one season left in college to solidify themselves as elite level players. They will be impact performers as seniors and at the next level.
