Continue ReadingThe 2019 season was awesome to say the least for the Mill Valley Jaguars. They started out 1-3 but won the next 9 games en route to a 5A state championship. It was their 3rd state championship since 2015. The 2020 season looks very promising as well as they have six seniors ranked in the Kansas top 200 for the class of 2021 with all of them in the top 95. Here is a look at their top seniors.
Ethan Kremer (21) DT, LG. 6’1 265 40-4.91. Plays as a 3T. Shows great burst off the ball. Imposes his will against larger OL. Good instincts enable him to take the correct angle to the ball carrier and delivers a heavy hit on RB and QB. As an OG, shows good quickness as he pulls on power and trap plays and is strong enough to drive defenders off the ball with good tenacity as he finishes blocks to the ground.
Sam Hecht Sam Hecht 6'4" | 245 lbs | OL Mill Valley | 2021 State KS (44) LT 6’3 250 40-5.08. Shows good quickness to get to the 2nd level. Tenacious blocker who uses his hands effectively and uses his play strength in his upper and lower body to drive defenders off the ball. Plays to the whistle.
Chris Tennant Chris Tennant 6'4" | 210 lbs | K Mill Valley | 2021 State KS (50) K/P 6’4 205 40-4.55. Best Kicker in the state. Only Kicker ranked in the top 50. Scored 93 points in 2019.
Cole Knappen Cole Knappen 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Mill Valley | 2021 State KS (61) DE 6’2 251 40-4.98. Plays both LDE and RDE. Quick off the ball, with great closing speed to get into the backfield for sack or tfl. Smart player that doesn’t bite on play fakes. Dominant at the point of attack using his hands and upper body strength effectively to shed blocks.
Kolten Jengen Kolten Jengen 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Mill Valley | 2021 State KS (74) LB 6’1 208 40-4.83. Plays as MLB. Good range enables him to play sideline to sideline. Great against the run as he uses his play strength to shed blocks, quickness, agility and instincts to quickly get to the ball carrier and brings down ball carrier with force.
Trey Worcester Trey Worcester 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Mill Valley | 2021 State KS (95) DB 6’0 185. Plays as a FS. Uses his football intelligence to quickly key and diagnose run vs pass. Effective tackler who can get larger ball carriers to the ground with ease.
