OSU TE Luke Musgrave was one of the most slept on individuals statewide in High School. He now projects as a potential Sunday guy and one of the top TE’s in the Pac 12.
All of that said as brother Colt Musgrave Colt Musgrave 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Bend | 2021 State OR (6-2 212 LB 21’) is one of the fastest rising recruits in the Northwest, recently adding an offer from Idaho. The 2* national recruit made the switch late last season from QB to LB, which paid off quickly.
Speaking on the upcoming season and the position change Colt says, “I will not be playing QB, I think I will be playing RB/Wing Back. My individual goal is to show how physical I can be, my goal for our team is to go undefeated.”
Teammate and returning Conference Player of the Year Nate Denney Nate Denney 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB Bend | 2021 OR is one of the most electric kids on the West Coast. Give Yale a lot of credit for snatching him up. Having two D1 kids come out of the backfield, potentially averaging 40 touches per game between them, could pose serious problems for opposing defenses.
Colt separates himself with his versatility. From a recruiting standpoint schools see an athlete who checks a lot of boxes and will only get better as he focuses on the LB spot. As the state skiing champ his overall athleticism has further been put on display, winning the boys combined overall state title as a freshman.
Musgrave was ranked the #3 LB statewide and #20 overall (#1-65) on my updated Prep Redzone Rankings for the Class of 2021 https://prepredzone.com/oregon/rankings/2021-rankings/ . He has one of the highest ceilings of any athlete in Oregon, with the potential of cracking the top 10, and playing at a Power five School. We will keep you updated as you will hear a lot more about Colt in the years & months to come.
