One of the more exciting matchups of the tournament was played between Palmer Ridge, the team Evans was on, and the Smoky Hill team. Smoky took the lead with a fantastic catch in the endzone, leaving Palmer Ridge with four seconds on the clock. With one last play, Evans ran a route into the endzone with two defenders blanketed on him and was able to go up and get the ball to win on a walk-off touchdown. Coming out and showcasing his speed, route running, and catching abilities made Evans one of the top standout players in his class.
Ja"Derris Carr – Vista PEAK – 2021 – RB/CB

Defensively, Carr knows how to lock in, and lockdown receivers in his zone or in man. Last season, he finished as Vista PEAK’s leading rusher (1,445 yds) and leading receiver (510 yds), playing a major role in his team’s 10-1 record. On more than one occasion, Allen was able to use his athleticism and strong route-running skills to beat defenders and catch passes in the endzone. Keep an eye out for this player.
Gabriel Kreimeyer – Rangeview – 2021 – DB/WR
Kreimeyer stood out as a vocal leader in the secondary for his team. Playing from the safety position, he did well to stay over the top of receivers while keeping his eyes on the quarterback and making fast breaks on the ball. He even had a couple of pass breakups in the endzone. Kreimeyer’s versatility made him a reliable wide receiver as well. With his knowledge of zone coverage, he was able to recognize and exploit openings in coverages as a receiver. Kreimeyer is a consistent hard worker who definitely raised his stock value during the tournament.
