The 10 Best 2021 Quarterbacks Without Any Offers
As players prepare for the 2020 season, several high-level players have yet to receive much recruiting interest. These are the best quarterbacks in the 2021 class without a college offer at any level.
Colin Parachek Colin Parachek 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Dexter | 2021 State MI | 6’4″, 185 | Dexter
Parachek enters 2020 as arguably one of the most underrated players in the state. He has prototypical size with a good arm and solid poise in the pocket, but the offers have yet to come. If the D1 schools don’t bite, then a school at the DII, DIII, or NAIA level would be getting a steal.
Christian Dhue-Reid Christian Dhue-Reid 5'10" | 225 lbs | QB Belleville | 2021 State MI | 5’10″, 225 | Belleville
For a school that has had no trouble attracting college coaches in recent years, the lack of recruiting for Belleville’s star quarterback is puzzling. Dhue-Reid has been the varsity starter since his freshman season and will end his high school career as one of the most producitve quarterbacks in state history. He lacks ideal height, but makes up for it with his arm, accuracy and sound decision making. Dhue-Reid is a top talent and should see offers coming his way soon.
Aidan Rubio Aidan Rubio 6'5" | 190 lbs | QB Goodrich | 2021 State MI | 6’5″, 190 | Goodrich
A talented basketball player, Rubio brings top tier size and athleticism to the position that should appeal to college coaches. He will need to fill out his frame, but a player with his talents should be receiving much more interest than he has so far.
Tyson Edmondson Tyson Edmondson 6'5" | 175 lbs | QB Ann Arbor Huron | 2021 MI | 6’5″, 175 | Ann Arbor Huron
Edmondson is comparable to Rubio from an athleticism and frame perspective. He flashes a big arm and is capable of making plays with his legs. He has a chance to gain offers and rise up recruiting boards with a strong senior season.
Josh Byers Josh Byers 6'2" | 160 lbs | QB Henry Ford II | 2021 State MI | 6’2″, 160 | Henry Ford II
Byers doesn’t have the biggest arm, but he has good size, sees the field well and is capable of tucking the ball away to make plays with his feet. With more experience under his belt, Byers should continue to improve his game and gain more college interest as a result.
Giovanni Mastromatteo Giovanni Mastromatteo 5'10" | 160 lbs | QB Everest Collegiate | 2021 State MI | 5’10″, 160 | Everest Collegiate
After a strong junior season, Mastromatteo was named the Detroit News All-State Team Athlete of the Year, but the offers have yet to come in for the Everest’s signal caller. Mastromatteo is a talented two-way athlete that also led his team on the defensive side of the ball with six interceptions on the season. His lack of size is likely a concern for college coaches, but he has the skill to play a variety of postions at the next level.
Jack Donovan Jack Donovan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Chippewa Valley | 2021 MI | 6’2″, 180 | Chippewa Valley
After spending the season sitting behind Wayne State signee Joshua Kulka, Donovan will enter the 2020 season as the expected starter for Chippewa Valley. He showed good accuracy, touch and enough arm strength to drive the ball downfield during his sophomore season on the JV level and could be a fast riser if he can find success on the varsity level.
Matt Diaz Matt Diaz 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hazel Park | 2021 MI | 6’0″, 180 | Hazel Park
Diaz is a bit of an unknown, but he has an intriguing dual-threat skillset with some impressive flashes of poise and accuracy. The lack of even DIII interest is a head scratcher, but the college interest should come with more production and exposure.
Xander Thelen Xander Thelen 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Haslett | 2021 MI | 6’3″, 185 | Haslett
Despite a 2-7 record in 2019, Thelen flashed some impressive tools. He has good size and displays solid touch, accuracy and arm strength. Thelen will look to change his teams fortunes next season and hopefully gain recruiting interest during the process.
Reece Betts Reece Betts 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Avondale | 2021 MI | 6’0″, 180 | Avondale
Betts lacks top shelf arm strength and size, but he is quick into his set up and shows good accuracy. He returns for his senior season alongside Indiana commit David Holloman David Holloman 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Avondale | 2021 State MI and receiver Corban Small Corban Small 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Avondale | 2021 State MI . The group should form an exciting trio on offense that could help get the Yellow Jackets into the playoffs. A playoff run could be key in gaining some momentum on the recruiting front for Betts.
