A speedy wide receiver who is tough to bring down in space. Jamariel was Round Lake’s go-to weapon as a sophomore and lined up all over the place. He hasn’t been getting much publicity, and I think with his skillset he deserves a lot more recruiting attention.
9. Trevor Griffin, ATH, 5’10, 175, Andrew, SR
If you’re looking for a triple-option quarterback, look no further! Griffin was spectacular as a junior, leading the Thunderbolts to the playoffs and a 7-3 record. He’s got good speed, impressive balance, and the ability to extend plays with his feet. Based off his grades and ability, he could be a great fit for a service academy type school.
8. Ruben Howell, DE, 6’3, 220, Belleville West, SR
A fierce pass rusher with good bend and impressive athleticism. Howell has adequate burst off the ball and can fight off blocks in the run game. His frame makes him a really interesting prospect because he could potentially play outside linebacker or defensive end. He’s a kid who I see his recruiting taking off after his senior year.
7. Javion Morgan, WR, 6’, 185, Alton, SR
When I watched Javion’s film, it always seemed like defensive backs were chasing him to trying to play catchup. His speed is his number one asset, and he’s a master of making things happen after the catch. With his pure athleticism, I wouldn’t be shocked if he played defensive back at the next level.
6. Ian Ridge Ian Ridge 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Elk Grove | 2021 IL , RB, 5’9, 175, Elk Grove, SR
This kid was an absolute workhorse for Elk Grove last fall and put up gaudy numbers, totaling 1,856 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns. On film, he’s patient and allows for his blocks to set up in front of him. His burst and ability to see the cutback creates serious issues for defenders.
5. Sam Del Valle, DB, 6’, 185, Mount Carmel, SR
This guy came on my radar late, but I’m glad I saw his tape because he can flat-out play. Sam shows loose hips, he consistently reads his open lineman & will come down and make tackles in space. This kid is physical and won’t back down from anyone. He’s probably the most underrated defensive back in all of Illinois.
4. Kaleb Miller Kaleb Miller 5'8" | 170 lbs | ATH Nazareth | 2023 State IL , ATH, 5’8, 165, Nazareth, SO
If you haven’t seen this kid’s tape, go watch it. Kaleb is only going to be a sophomore, but to me, he’s already flashed Power Five type ability. He can play running back, wide receiver, cornerback & nickel and will dominate at each one. Kaleb is a playmaking machine, and I’m excited to see his growth as a player over the next three years.
3. Alvin Gulley, OL, 6’2, 300, Belleville West, SR
A mean offensive line prospect who plays with solid knee bend and pure aggression. Gulley is on the shorter side, but his stature has no effect on his play. I think he’s a center at the next level. Holds 1 FCS & multiple D2 offers.
2. Jashawn Johnson Jashawn Johnson 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Hoffman Estates | 2022 State IL , WR, 5’10, 160, Hoffman Estates, JR
This is one of the best-kept secrets in all of Illinois. Jonhson is a playmaking machine, whether it be at wide receiver or defensive back. This kid is a no-brainer division one recruit for me, and it’s a little shocking he hasn’t picked up any offers yet.
1. Daniel Sobkowicz, WR, 6’2, 190, Rolling Meadows, SR
This lengthy wide receiver posses great build up speed and can take the top off a defense. Last fall he dominated the competition and was a serious deep threat. Sobkowicz does a good job stacking defensive backs early and naturally catches the ball away from his body.
