Few high school wide receivers are one-dimensional, meaning that the majority of the pass-catching players possess multiple skills and abilities that make them valuable assets. Below is a list of five such receivers who have yet to garner the college attention that they truly deserve.
Vann Schield Vann Schield 6'0" | 195 lbs | WR Rock Canyon | 2021 State CO – Rock Canyon
Schield is a 6-foot, 190lbs playmaking athlete who steals the spotlight as soon as he steps on the field. He has great size, explosive speed, excellent route-running abilities, and really good hands. His concentration and field awareness are next level, which can be highlighted by his spectacular toe-dragging sideline catches. In addition to being a receiver, he also sees snaps at running back and defensive back. Schield is an extremely underrated athlete who stands out, regardless of his position.
Jack Hestera Jack Hestera 6'1" | WR Ralston Valley | 2021 TX – Ralston Valley
Hestera is a playmaking receiver who brings a lot of energy to the field. This 6-foot-1, 175lbs player has no shortage of athleticism. He’s quick out of his releases and applies pressure to defensive backs by attacking their leverage then creating space with his breaks and speed. In addition to his artistic route running, Hestera’s ability to track the ball and make adjustments for the catch is top-notch. Add his name to the recruiting boards now or regret it later.

Breckin Davis Breckin Davis 6'1" | WR Lewis-Palmer | 2021 State CO – Lewis-Palmer
At 6-foot-1 and 165lbs, Davis is an athletic receiver with good length. He’s a sharp route runner with really crisp cuts and great acceleration. His speed and ability to adjust to the ball and catch it at its highest point makes him a very reliable target. Davis possesses a natural talent at receiver, making him a diamond in the rough type of sleeper.
Nate Burke Nate Burke 6'3" | WR Cherokee Trail | 2021 State CO – Cherokee Trail
After watching Burke run one route, it becomes obvious why he is a must-watch player. The 6-foot-4, 185lbs receiver is a dangerous weapon in the passing game. His height and stride make him a legitimate deep threat, while his sharp route-running skills give him the ability to be a number one target anytime he is on the field. Burke is the type of player who can end up garnering double-team attention from defenses, which only adds to his value.
Cole Walker Cole Walker 6'0" | WR Legacy | 2021 State CO – Legacy
Walker plays in an offensive scheme that requires him to line up as a wing sometimes, which means the 6-foot, 185lbs receiver is a physical player. His speed and elusiveness help to highlight his ability to find and exploit openings in the defense’s coverage. Walker is a player who consistently produces, regardless of whether or not he has the ball.
