Nobody can control this pandemic. The only thing that can be done is to work hard and hope for the best.
There is no getting around that the Coronavirus has his Florida hard, and that’s why many are not sure when the season will begin – and how long it will last when it does start.
If you check social media, it has been alive with young athletes lifting weights, running and staying in shape – just in case this season starts sooner than later.
If you follow us here on Prep Redzone Florida, you already know that we promote and expose more athletes that have no stars or that may be under-the-radar than anyone else.
While many services or fan websites are after the start-rated athletes, we do that as well, but go way beyond to cover EVERY prospect, no matter what level they play at now – or plan to compete at when they graduate.
Today, we bring you five seniors who do not receive the spotlight and work as hard as those who receive the spotlight daily.
Harold McKay, LB/DE, Daytona Beach Seabreeze. Here is a football player who has overcome a lot in his young life, and because of that, he gives you everything he has on each and every play. Hard worker who plays this game with plenty of passion and will fly all over the field to make plays. He’s so quick off the ball, it’s tough to block him out of the play. This is one of those young men you want on your team. He treats every game as a business trip and that is something that he uses on both sides of the ball.

Ja’Bari Mention, DE/TE, Dade City Pasco. A two-way performer who competes at a high level, has an amazing work ethic and is around the ball on every play. You had better lay a hand on him and know where he is before you snap the ball – because he is someone who will disrupt your offensive scheme in minute. Plays all over the field, and that is what makes him special.

Matthew Shannon, QB, Fort Pierce John Carroll. Makes the move from Glades Day to compete for a program that has always had its share of impressive football talent. Here is a very athletic prospect with a solid arm, physical demeanor and plenty of leadership. While he doesn’t totally rely on his legs, he can run and mix things up, which adds up to moving the chains and making more plays. Solid football player who this program will certainly use in a huge way in 2020.

Garrett Tipton, OL, Winter Park Lake Howell. Whether he lines up at tackle or guard, here is a football player who will make a difference. Once he lays his large frame into you – as a run blocker or providing protection for the passing game – this is a talented prospect that makes an impact. He grades out so well each game because he never stops moving. Once the play starts, he is active until the final whistle.

Kaylum Uribes, DE/OL, Hudson. Make no mistake, here is one of those football players who brings his lunch pale to work with him every day. Someone who makes an impact on both sides of the ball – as well as on special teams. Solid blocker on offense – and on the defensive side of the ball – his motor never stops. Not the biggest, fastest or strongest player on the field, but he is a winner that plays this game hard and ends up making a huge impact.
