Some of the top hidden gems not only come from the big schools but also neighborhood schools too. These three Cleveland area athletes could start on many of the teams in the State and will soon be gaining plenty of college interest once the season takes off.
Christian Ramos
Quarterback, St. Edwards High School
Ramos will be the next starting QB for the St. Edwards Eagles as we head into fall 2020. This young QB throws the ball with accuracy and proves he can do it on the move. Christian can escape the pocket and will use his elusiveness to create a big play while keeping his eyes downfield. Week 1 will be a big test as they take on a battle-tested and star-studded Massillon Tigers football team for his varsity debut. Christian has the potential to be an FBS QB, very talented.
Joe Lavelle
Left Tackle, St. Edwards High School
Joe is a physical and big framed young offensive lineman who has a bright future. Lavelle shows his ability to finish off defenders at the point of contact and down the field. Lavelle is listed at 6’1 260lbs, but one can assume he has more room to grow. Joe will also be starting varsity for the Eagles along with QB Christian Ramos, whom Joe has blocked for on JV. This prospect has FBS talent, and with his aggressive nature mixed with coaching, he will be a solid prospect over the years to come.
Antwone Woolfolk
Tight End, Brush High School
Standing at 6’7 245lbs, Antwone Woolfolk is one of the biggest hidden gems in the area, yes, pun intended too. As a sophomore, Woolfolk gained over 500 yards on 25 receptions for four touchdowns. Woolfolk is also known for what he can do on the basketball court but wants it known that he is indeed a football player. Antwone just picked up his first D1 offer from the University of Akron on August 19th and has been hearing from more schools since. He snagged his first basketball offer from Cleveland State in late July.
