Each of the top-five tight ends in the sate come in the top-100 players overall and have all been receiving interest from FBS programs in their recruitment. Here’s a quick look at each of them as they enter their senior season of high school football.
Khalil Dinkins Khalil Dinkins 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE North Allegheny | 2021 State PA (North Allegheny): Dinkins is our top-rated tight end coming in at No.10 in our rankings regardless of position. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound North Allegheny standout has a lot of what you look for in an FBS Power-5 tight end. First of all, he already has tremendous height at 6-foot-4, making him an easy target anywhere on the field. While he will need to add weight before he sees time at the college level, coaches have to love his height. He doesn’t have tremendous speed but he has quality speed to say the least and while he doesn’t always get the best separation, his height, athleticism, and catch radius allows him to jump and come down with a lot of balls as long as they’re generally thrown in his vicinity.
CJ Dippre CJ Dippre 6'3" | 253 lbs | TE Lakeland | 2021 State PA (Lakeland): A commit to the University of Maryland, Dippre is a tight-end who may be more ready for the college level than Dinkins. Already at 6-foot-4 and 253-pounds, Dippre has your prototypical size for the position. While he has below-average speed for the position, clocking a 4.92 forty-yard dash per his HUDL account, Dippre is quite athletic and shows it by playing multiple positions for Lakeland, taking snaps at quaterback, tight end, and defensive end for the Chiefs. Dippre is expected to enroll early at Maryland this upcoming winter which should benefit him even more as he makes the full-time transition to the tight end position.
Gavin Bartholomew Gavin Bartholomew 6'4" | 265 lbs | TE Blue Mountain High | 2021 PA (Blue Mountain): The University of Buffalo commit is one of the Schuylkill League’s best talents, if not the top. Bartholomew like Dippre above is a tight end who physically could possibly see the field as a freshman. Bartholomew is already 6-foot-4 and 265-pounds, just tremendous size to say the least. He has decent speed with a forty-yard dash time of 4.8 but makes up for it with his size, being a tough player to bring down when he has the ball in his hands. He shows a quality set of hands as well, making a variety of tough catches when needed.
Tanner Krevokuch Tanner Krevokuch 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Norwin | 2021 PA (Norwin): Krevokuch is a tight end built a bit more like our top tight end, Khalil Dinkins Khalil Dinkins 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE North Allegheny | 2021 State PA . Krevokuch stands at 6-foot-4 but weighs just 205-pounds so before he sees the field at the next level, he’ll need to add more weight to his frame. Krevokuch possesses quality athleticism as well as someone who is a good route runner and can be trusted to make the easy receptions.
Matt Carlino Matt Carlino 6'5" | 226 lbs | TE The Haverford School | 2021 PA (The Haverford School): As always, we’ll start off with Carlino’s size at 6-foot-5 and 230-pounds. A tall and lengthy target, Carlino presents a great target for quarterbacks to throw to across the middle and in the redzone. While he looks to have good athleticism and good speed for a tight end (4.68 forty-yard dash), I was especially impressed with his blocking abilities. While he may not be the offensive weapon some of these other guys are his blocking abilities that could allow him to see the playing field early in his collegiate career.
