Connor Jones Connor Jones 6'7" | 290 lbs | OL Palmer Ridge | 2022 State CO , who will be a junior at Palmer Ridge when high school football resumes in 2021, has decided to attack the unexpected changes head on.
“Honestly, you can only control what you can control,” Jones said. “What I can control is how I come into the spring season. I’ll gain weight and put on some muscle mass and just be in the best shape I can be so I can perform to the best of my ability for my team.”
At No. 9 overall in the Prep Redzone Colorado Class of 2022 player rankings, Jones currently has offers from Colorado State University and the University of New Mexico. He has also been in contact with Northwestern University, which has pulled his transcript, as well as the University of Michigan, Kansas University, Kansas State University, Penn State University and the University of Oklahoma.

At 6-foot-6 with good footwork and technique, Jones certainly has the size and skill to play at the next level but isn’t sitting back and riding out what is now an extended preseason. The next in a line of talented linemen to play for the three-time reigning 3A champion Bears, spends his days at Six Zero Strength + Fitness when he hasn’t been able to work out with his team. Jones and his father also built a wooden squat rack during quarantine so that he can do as much lifting at home as possible.
“That’s pretty much my favorite thing that I own right now,” Jones said.
With the amount of work he’s been putting in to get better in anticipation of an eventual junior campaign and a chance to help the Bears prove themselves in Class 4A, it’s reasonable to expect more offers to come rolling in for Jones.
“I’ve had a lot of contact with a lot of different coaches and things are just getting exciting,” Jones said. “I’m not in a position to make a decision and I’m not leaning in any direction yet. I’m waiting to see what else comes in and I won’t make any decision until after my junior year. I’m just ready for the season.”
