As you know by now, Florida is certainly a state that doesn’t only have elite talent in the larger cities, but communities throughout the Sunshine State have their share of standout prospects who have either made an impression – or will make one over the next few months.
As some lament not having a spring and summer this year because of this ongoing pandemic, they have done what was necessary and available to stay in shape and compete safely.
There is no getting away from the fact that Florida has been hit hard by Covid-19, but at the same time, these Class of 2021 seniors know what’s at stake and have been through the routine for many years.
Today, as we continue to do throughout the course of a year, we bring you more prospects that do not get the spotlight that many of the “elite” and hyped prospects do.
Check out these 5 young men:
Darius Bacon, DB/RB, St. Petersburg Northeast. This two-way standout is indeed the real deal. Watch him on defense and he’s agile but extremely physical. His quickness and athleticism is amazing. If you happen to be a receiver, you will have your work cut out against someone who pays this game at a high level and with plenty of intensity. Will be looked upon to be a leader for the Vikings. Never afraid to stick his head into the action.

Rafael Betancourt, S/WR, Windermere Prep. This gifted athlete is someone who never wants to leave the field. Plays anywhere in the secondary because of his agility and passion. Can also lineup on offense, and with his speed and vision, he is simply a major threat to hit a home run as a kick returner. As he gets strong, he will take the chance to make more plays, but for right now, this is a huge key to this team winning football games.

Okino King, OG, Miami Northwestern. There’s a reason why the Bulls are three-time defending state champions, and prospects like this are the reason why. Has emerged as one of the top linemen in south Florida – and for those who have competed against him – they will tell you that there are very few in the state who bring to the table what this young man does. It is kind of funny that as much exposure that he gets and as many times as he dominates elite competition that he isn’t much higher rated, but this is a talent who will certainly show those who have doubted him that they are completely missing out on a prospect with size and plenty of football skill.

Roger Mottley III, Athlete, Fort Myers Dunbar. They key word for someone who does it all these days is “athlete”. Someone who not only gets it done at multiple positions, but dominates while he’s doing it. His speed and vision make him a lethal slot prospect. He just has a way to outrun you and end up in the endzone. He even gives his team a boost from the wildcat position. This is truly a gifted football player that has a chance to be very special in 2020, but people who have watched him in the past, already know that.

Jacob Pasley, TE, Sebring. Yet another one of the hidden gems in this state. Here is a big time tight end prospect who gives defenses nightmares. He is tough to match-up against because of his size, speed and overall athleticism. The best thing about his play – while he is offensive minded and can move the chains every time he gets his hands on the ball – he loves to block and will take you out of the play – just like that. As he has received attention, many across the state still haven’t watched him play this game. You will be impressed.
