It is a feeding zone for college recruiting, and entertainment for everyone in the East Valley to watch these guys show out. In the past, some of the best talent in Arizona has come out of the East Valley, and it does not look like it will be changing in 2020. Here are some of the most electric players to watch this season:
Denzel Burke Denzel Burke 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Saguaro | 2021 State AZ , ATH., 6’0″ 190lbs.
Saguaro HS
Denzel is the best athlete on any field he steps on. The Ohio State commit excels on both sides of the ball. He is a lockdown corner with excellent ball tracking abilities, as well as an elite receiver on the offensive side. Denzel’s speed and precise route running is lethal in the Saguaro offense. He is explosive out of his cuts, shows the ability to get stacked over DB’s, and can take it to the house on any play. On defense, he makes it difficult for QB’s to throw his direction as he is positions himself well in zone, and is lockdown in man. He is a patient corner and does not get cooked on double moves. Denzel is is expected to have an outstanding 2020 season.
Kai Millner Kai Millner 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Higley | 2021 State AZ , QB, 6’2″ 190lbs.
Higley HS
Kai is an athletic kid who competes with the best programs in Arizona, and always makes something happen. Although he can sit in the pocket and drop dimes, his ability to get out of the pocket and create something is what stands out the most. He has excellent downfield vision and makes outstanding reads during busted plays. The Cal commit displays pinpoint accuracy on any throw and shows the ability to throw receivers open to create big plays. His ball carrier ability brings the noise as he shows good speed and is deceitfully elusive. Kai plays with a chip on his shoulder and is prone to be one of the funnest players to watch this fall.
Jalen Richmond Jalen Richmond 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Chandler | 2021 State AZ , WR, 6’0″ 180lbs.
Chandler HS
Jalen is a threat at any Receiver position. He has shown he can make plays from the slot and the outside. Jalen is a big play guy when he touches the ball. His ability to make anyone miss is a nightmare for defenses to plan for. He possesses good speed with strong hands, and he is not intimidated to go across the middle and take a hit. The Boise State commit’s best abilities are his deep routes. He disguises his routes from DB’s at an elite level, and is explosive out of his cuts with posts and corners. Jalen is prone to have a huge 2020 in a loaded Chandler offense.
Eli Sanders Eli Sanders 6'1" | 190 lbs | RB Chandler | 2021 State AZ , RB, 6’1″ 190lbs.
Chandler HS
In a staked Chandler offense, Eli, like multiple others on the Chandler offense, is a big play threat every time he touches the ball. The other Boise State commit from Chandler, Eli brings the energy every Friday night and is an outstanding running back. He has great lateral speed, great vision, and is extremely explosive through the hole. Chandler has a phenomenal 1-2 punch between Sanders and Nicolas Nesbitt Nicolas Nesbitt 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB Chandler | 2021 State AZ , and it is clear they thrive on competition. Eli’s shows the ability to get to the numbers as soon as he reaches the second level, which creates separation between himself and faster opponents. This makes Sanders a game breaker style player on any given snap.
Damien Owens Damien Owens 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Notre Dame | 2021 State AZ , WR, 6’1″ 170lbs.
Notre Dame Prep HS
Damien is Notre Dame Prep’s swiss army knife. He is extremely athletic and can play slot, outside, carry the ball, and is a menace at special teams. He breaks out of his routes and cuts quickly, and has strong hands. He is your ultimate game breaker due to his speed and shiftiness. He is a huge threat while returning kicks, as he displays breakaway speed and shows no hesitation. Every time the ball finds Damien, something seems to happen. This uncommitted senior shows high potential, so be ready to hear his name among Arizona’s best this season.
