Believe it or not, the class of 2022 is already making decisions regarding where they’ll be playing their college football. On Monday, our No.24 prospect in the class of 22 and top-ranked quarterback, Beau Pribula Beau Pribula 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Central York | 2022 State PA in the state made his commitment to stay at home and play for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He chose Penn State over Buffalo, Connecticut, Nebraska, Northwestern, Old Dominion, Penn State, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Syracuse, Temple, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.
Pribula, a rising junior at Central York High School in York, Pennsylvania is a talent and highly-athletic quarterback who also is a standout player on the Panthers basketball team. As a sophomore, Pribula played in eight games for Central York, completing 55% of his passes for just over 1,000-yards and six touchdowns. He did, however, throw seven interceptions in those eight games. On the ground, Pribula picked up an additional 298-yards and 10 touchdowns over the course of 58 carries.

The first thing to note about Pribula is his size as he stands at right around your prototypical quarterback size of 6-foot-2 and 190-pounds.
He has everything you look for in a quarterback as passer, he has strong pocket presence and shows a good ability to sense pressure closing in on him and either get the ball out of his hands or try and take off. If he does take off, he has the ability for a home run play every time as he possess sub-4.5 speed, making him a true dual-threat talent.
Going back to his abilities in the pocket, Pribula also shows a great job at reading defenders but also anticipating his receivers routes. He doesn’t have the strongest of arms by any means but he makes up for it with the anticipation and can flash good accuracy at times. He’s far from perfect in the pocket as his numbers show but there is a good foundation there for his passing skills.
Based off his athleticism alone, if quarterback doesn’t necessarily workout for Pribula at the college level, he does have the athleticism to make a position move if needed and willing to do so. That being said, Penn State should give Pribula plenty of time to develop at the quarterback position before making any sort of decision. Overall, Penn State picked up a quarterback with great upside in Pribula, he may need more time to physically develop in the weight room and to clean up his game on the field but the overall ceiling for the York native is considerably high.
