The team has not had a playoff win since the 2015 season and has not had a winning season since 2005. However, in all the adversity they still put a team on the field for the ever-faithful Windom fans and, incredibly managed to send a good amount of their roster to play college sports. Since the 2015 season the Eagles have sent 11 athletes to the next level for athletics. Windom has always had great athletes on the gridiron, though the record does not reflect it, they were always a team never to sleep on. This article hits home for me, I played against them four times in my career, each year they had great athletes on the field and were tough to defend. Like many of their games, big plays and momentum swings killed their games. They were always a lot better than their record every season, the amount of college athletes showed that. I will mention the players that have potential to play college ball as well as those past who went on to play a college sport as well.
QB- Kade Sammons adds to a long line of athletic QB’s for the Eagles, he makes good decisions on whether to run or pass. He throws a good ball after going through his reads, he also has a good amount of speed and agility in the read option.
WR- Trenton Renquist is a good vertical threat running the seam routes and catching the deep passes for big plays.
WR/DB- O’maria Lewis played good in man-to-man coverage and was also a good target in the pass game.
DL- Alex Altman is good at the DE position, keeping contain and is a good pass-rusher.
WR/DL- Dylan Serreyn’s long figure makes it difficult to throw quick passes over top of him, also has speed to be a dangerous receiver.
