Max Jablonski – OL – Wheaton Warrenville South
This young man is exactly what an interior offensive lineman should look like. Not towering at 6’2” but stocky and strong at 275-pounds. Jablonski showed great feet during individual drills then won his battle during tug of war. His athleticism shows that Jablonski will be able to lead block while pulling and during screen plays. It was hard for linemen to stand out, but Jablonski did during every drill I saw him in.
Cameron Pickett – WR – Gwendolyn Brooks
Pickett is not going to wow you with his size at 6’0″ and 180-pounds but he makes up for it with his explosiveness. His cuts in and out of breaks were very impressive. Pickett showed solid hands during individual drills, sometimes he did use his body to catch the ball but that’s easily correctable. He made some very difficult catches during the 1-on-1’s, showing that his size isn’t always a factor.
Brayden Deem – QB – Rockridge
Deem was solid during individual drills, but once the 1-on-1’s began, he turned it on. His footwork was great, Deem never seemed to be flat-footed, which led to some very accurate throws. There is some touch on his throws as well, making his balls very catchable for wide receivers. Good size at 6’2” and 185-pounds, Deem is a dual-threat option.
Paulie Robertson – OL – Glenbard North
Another interior linemen who looked good was Robertson. He moves very well for his size, but his lack of height at just 6’0” probably projects him as a center long-term but has the ability to play guard as well. Robertson showed a mean streak during his tug-of-war battle, a trait you love to see out of linemen. His stocky frame will allow him to use leverage effectively, combining that with his solid athleticism should make Robertson a effective player at the next level.
Josh Brown – RB – Willowbrook
Brown’s footwork was very impressive during individual drills, as the compact back showed great quickness. His low center of gravity helps him move laterally, Brown is very shifty. He has good hands coming out of the backfield as well, caught multiple balls during the 1-on-1’s. Brown couldn’t show his toughness at this camp, but knowing he also plays defensive end, you know it’s there.
