The 2021 standout receivers saw that there are younger guys out there who are putting in the work to prove that they are also deserving of being considered elite. Thanks to this past weekend’s event, many of the state’s top talent were able to see where they match up against one another.
Here is a list of five receivers who stood out during the camp, proving that they are deserving of being added to any watchlist.
Jack Pierce Jack Pierce 5'8" | WR Cherokee Trail | 2022 State CO – Cherokee Trail – 2022
All eyes were on Pierce during the showcase after he clocked the fasted lasered 40-yard dash time (4.46) on day one. He carves his mark on the field with how sharp his route running skills are. He stays low in and out of his breaks, exploding off of his instep while locating the ball immediately out of his break. His ball tracking skills are amazing and he has excellent hands. At 5-foot-8 and 160lbs, Pierce was one of the more technically sound receivers at the showcase and he deserves to be high up on all recruiting boards.

Ky Oday Ky Oday 5'10" | WR Cherry Creek | 2022 State CO – Cherry Creek – 2022
Oday is quick and explosive off of the line. He stays skinny during his release and is good at keeping the defensive back’s hands off of him. This 5-foot-10, 170lbs receiver is a really good route runner who creates space out of his breaks with speed. Oday is the type of receiver who attacks a defensive back’s leverage and breaks as soon as the DB commits his hips. This player is definitely one to watch.
Garrett Dunne Garrett Dunne 5'9" | Wide Receiver Cherokee Trail | 2022 CO – Cherokee Trail – 2022
Dunne is another great route runner with phenomenal releases. The 5-foot-9 receiver is a great hand fighter with really good footwork and knows how to bait a defensive back. Dunne steps to the line with a well thought out plan for each opponent, which he executes with precision. He makes sure to stack the DB then get his head around quickly, extending his hands while looking in every catch. Dunne is a shifty receiver who stands out with every rep, keep an eye out for this athlete.
Hayden Moore Hayden Moore 6'4" | 195 lbs | LB Regis Jesuit | 2023 State CO – Regis Jesuit – 2023
This 6-foot-3 and 185lbs receiver checks all of the boxes. He has an explosive release and is able to get off of the jam quickly. Moore’s speed and route running are fantastic and his ball tracking abilities are amazing. His size gives him a wide catch radius and his hand strength makes it almost impossible for a pass to be broken up. Moore is a young receiver who should not be overlooked, circle his name now.
Andrew Metzger Andrew Metzger 6'4" | TE Regis Jesuit | 2023 State CO – Regis Jesuit – 2023
Metzger is a big tight end/wide receiver who runs routes well. At 6-foot-3 and 225lbs, he makes for a great target anytime he is on the field, especially when in the redzone. He has the size that makes him a great addition to the blocking scheme, and the athleticism to be a dangerous option in the passing game. Expect big things from this big standout player.
