As I’ve repeated before, just because a prospect didn’t make a certain preseason team does not mean that they can’t ball, and all of these kids mentioned can make a significant impact at the next level. Let’s get to know some of these rising seniors and breakdown their game a little bit. Check out the included watchlist for more names of D6 rising seniors as well. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
Heath Foeller (Unity) RB. 6’1, 180 lbs. @HeathFoeller11 I messed up and should have just added Foeller to the All-State team. I was overwhelmed with the amount of talented RBs and he was the one to be left off. It’s my mistake, and not a determination of Foeller’s talent at all. The Unity athlete is the total package at RB. With great size at the position he’s a dangerous threat with the ball in his hands as he has a mean cut and is shifty, has good vision, and has good balance and lower body strength necessary to break weaker tackle attempts. He still has a good amount of room to put on weight as well. I’m a big fan of his. Check him out, coaches. Junior Year
Ethan Hunt (River Ridge) DB. Runs the alley well and has a good frame for a safety. Good tackler who doesn’t hesitate but reaches for ball-carriers and tackles a little high. Athletic enough to help his team on offense as a RB or WR. Junior SZN
David Nies (River Ridge) DE. 6’3, 190 lbs. @DavidNies9 A 2022 graduate who should have been added o the Top-4 2022 feature from yesterday. Really long and well-built DE who uses his hands well and has a strong pop out of his stance. Has pass-rush and run-defense capabilities. High-effort and high-motor player. Does a good job of inserting himself in passing lanes and knocking down balls. Good athlete who helps River Ridge on offense and special teams and has a ton more room to add weight.
Caleb Hager (Waterloo) TE. @Caleb_Hager8 Versatile pass-catching threat with good hops and great hands who isn’t afraid to go over the middle or catch passes in traffic. Does have some YAC ability and is capable of running a variety of different routes and helps Waterloo on the defensive side of the ball as well. shorter highlight tape
Payton Kostka (Eau Claire Regis) LB. Another stud who honestly could have been named Preseason All-State, Kostka is a physical and hard-hitting LB who is strong and keeps his feet moving through contact. Has some good range as well in-terms of speed and getting sideline-to-sideline in pursuit of ball-carriers. Big fan of Kostka’s. vs. St. Mary’s Springs Academy vs. Abbotsford vs. Neillsville
Logan Gilles (Fall Creek) LB. 5’10, 180 lbs. Only has sophomore highlights posted on Hudl, but looks like a fast and physical linebacker. highlights
Elijah Pearson (Ladysmith) DB/LB. It’s obvious the kid likes to hit, and he’s good at it. Good technique who can cut tackle or wrap up gator roll depending on the situation, and is strong for his size. Overall physical football player. JR highlights
