In November, a state tournament game between Timber Creek and Rumson-Fair Haven took place on a cold night. Rumson took home the victory but it was hard to ignore the play of Donovan LearyDonovanLeary6'2" | QBTimber Creek | 2022StateNJ under center for Timber Creek.

Leary is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports. He already features a handful of offers from schools like Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, and Temple. At 6’3, Leary is a complete quarterback with a strong arm and the ability to extend plays using his legs. The ball explodes out of his hands and he is accurate at all levels of the field.

Timber Creek has plenty of returning players that will make them a dangerous team in 2020. Leary leads that group. He had a dominant sophomore season including a six touchdown game against Warren County (VA). This is the year that his name has come onto the scene around the state.

Leary is ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2022. This is only going to get stronger as his high school career goes on. He is going to fine tune his game and turn into a bigger prospect over his years as an upperclassman.
