All four of these players are flying under the radar, but after this season that shouldn’t be the case. Now there are dozens are student- athletes that fit this article, but I am going to stick to the 2022 class to help narrow it down. For each of the four players we will take a look at what their film to date has shown us and then look at what I predict they will do this season. So without further delay, let me introduce you to five players from the 2022 class that I believe will make you remember who they are after this season!
Robert Bloom Robert Bloom 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI , QB- Brookfield Central
Bloom has really strong sophomore film. It gives me a good amount of confidence in predicting that he will in fact be the starting QB for Brookfield Central this season. The major factor that gives me faith in his ability to lead a team on Friday nights is his confidence. He is a gamer. Robert will do what it takes to make a play. The way he can buy time, scramble, or do something off script to create a play really shows off that self- confidence. When looking at his arm, Bloom doesn’t have a howitzer, but he does have enough arm to make the necessary throws and I expect after about 9 months of development since last season that the arm has continued to strengthen. His accuracy is reliable to all levels of the field as well. Pair his confidence and arm with an effective running threat and you get a QB that looks set for Friday nights.
Robert’s season starts off with a bang. Week one is not going to be a walk in the park for Robert and Brookfield Central. They face off against Menomonee Falls. A team that is bursting at the seams with talent on both sides of the ball. They are going to have multiple college level LBs and an offense that could turn this game into a shootout. What I predict to see from Robert this season that will make us “remember his name” is I expect to see a leader on the field. A kid who keeps attacking. Whether that be through the air or with his legs. By the end of the season, I believe that Bloom will be considered one of the better and more reliable dual threat QBs in the state and a winner. Evan Tyler Evan Tyler 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Hudson | 2022 State WI , DL- Hudson
Evan already made had a varsity impact as a sophomore. In 2020 he looks ready to take that next step towards becoming an impact player. He already has the size and length that you love to see. On the field, Evan’s potential is evident. He has proven that he can be a three down defensive end. The way that he can hold the line of scrimmage against the run as well as set the edge against outside runs is not easy to find. Especially from a sophomore, but that is what he showed last season. Against the pass, Evan has shown that he can be relentless. He has to develop his pass rush moves further, but I really like to see his quickness and ability to split double teams while pursuing the QB.
This season I expect to see Evan take that next step in his game. I predict that he will prove that he is an every down defensive lineman. His run stopping should continue to become more and more of a strength. His biggest jump, and the reason we will remember his performance this season, is going to be against the pass. I expect him to come into this season stronger and quicker with a better pass rush repertoire. I believe he is going to become a defender that teams will have to game plan around by the end of his junior season in 2020. Evan’s Sophomore SZN
Quinton Henry Jr. Quinton Henry Jr. 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Kenosha Bradford | 2022 State WI , WR- Kenosha Bradford
We don’t really have a ton of film to go off of for Quinton, but what he does have opens your eyes. Henry Jr. is very quick off the line. Any cushion he is given is eaten up quickly creating a ton of pressure on the DB guarding him. He is shaping into what looks like a legitimate field stretcher. His straight line speed gives him the ability to pull away from defenders and take the top off the defense. When he gets the ball in his hands, Quinton shows off impressive short area quickness and agility. He looks like he really could make a guy miss in a phone booth.
Thanks to the graduation of a few seniors, Quinton looks like he will have plenty of opportunity to step into a big role for Kenosha Bradford as a top three receiver. He could be even more than that though. I think the reason that we will all know Quinton’s name after this season is because of the big plays he is going to create. His reception totals might not be off the charts, but based off his skill set I wouldn’t be surprised to see a crazy high yards per reception average. The way he could take the top off defenses and make defenders miss in a small area this year is going to give him a great chance to make this happen. Quinton 7 on 7
Collin Argue Collin Argue 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Arrowhead | 2022 State WI , WR- Arrowhead
Collin is a fun watch on film. He already had good size as a sophomore and his strong hands at the catch point made 50/50 balls look more like 70/30 balls. His hands are so reliable. If he can get his hands on it he will find a way to come down with it. Argue is also an impressive route runner. He shows a good feel for the soft spots and knows how to use his size to box out defenders at the catch point. The speed that Collin has catches you by surprise too. He is a bit of a long strider so it can be deceptive, but he has shown the ability to eat up cushions from corners and also get on top of safeties quickly while stretching the field. I think we are going to see a strong impact on the varsity field from Collin this season.
I think we are about to see Collin breakout this season. He has the talent to do it all. He can stretch the field, run short/underneath routes, and he has very reliable hands. This is also the perfect match between talent and opportunity. Arrowhead graduated their top three leading receivers from the 2019 season, so there is going to be so many targets available for Collin to step up and take. I don’t see him missing out on this opportunity. I believe he is going to put on a show this season and make us remember his name when he wraps up his junior season. Collin’s Sophomore SZN
