There will be plenty of juniors who earn state and national attention this football season. At the same time, there are plenty of names that will not draw headlines. The running back position will have some key players this season. Let’s take a look at some under-the-radar junior running backs that can make an impact in the 2020 season.

Mike LeanzaMikeLeanza5'8" | RBBernards | 2022StateNJ, Bernards – Leanza is coming off a strong sophomore season for the Bernards Mountaineers. He fights for extra yardage and he is capable of making an impact in the backfield on any given night. He finished with nine rushing touchdowns a season ago, including three against Middlesex to close out the regular season. In the state playoff opener against Delaware Valley, Leanza totaled 133 yards on the ground on 22 carries with a TD. He has the potential to take a leap in his junior season.

Myles ThomasonMylesThomason5'9" | RBSeton Hall Prep | 2022StateNJ, Seton Hall Prep – Thomason found the end zone five teams last season at running back for Seton Hall Prep. His top performance came in a win over Pope John last November. Thomason rushed for 119 yards on 12 carries with a pair of scores. He has
