Apopka Looks To Forget 2019 Ending
If you were in Daytona Beach or watched the 8A finals on television last December 13, there was simply no way you believed the ending of the championship game.
With Apopka in full control over Miami Christopher Columbus, the Blue Darters let a 13-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter and suffered a heartbreaking 21-20 loss before 6,631 stunned fans.
Apopka (12-2), who was searching for its fourth state title, instead wasted a 306 yard rushing effort – sparked by junior Jaquan Lowman Jaquan Lowman 6'1" | 175 lbs | LB Apopka | 2021 FL , who had 24 carries for 249 yards and led this team all night long.
Apopka’s Travion Barnes Travion Barnes 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Apopka | 2022 FL finished with eight tackles, including one for a loss. Josiah Robinson and Nikai Martinez Nikai Martinez 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Apopka | 2022 State FL each finished with six tackles.
Now, as this team is set for the 2020 season, Lowman returns along with several other prospects and this is a team to definitely keep an eye on once again.
