River Ridge High School’s junior running back finished with a career-best 225 rushing yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Standing 5’8″ and 165 pounds, Morrison is continuing to display the type of playmaking ability which should attract college recruiters in the near future.
Morrison led Cherokee County in total yards from scrimmage as a sophomore (1,328) and has excellent hands out of the backfield. His low center-of-gravity when he runs makes it difficult for tacklers to get a clean shot on him and once in the open field he’s rarely caught from behind. Morrison scored on runs of 76, 59 and 56 yards in Week 1.
Morrison could be in line for a true breakout season. River Ridge has multiple weapons on the outside to keep defenses honest and based on his week one performance the athletic development in the elusive back seems right on track.
