The camp was very well put together, socially distant and the players were brought in waves so getting a chance to see them was very easy. Here are the group of offensive and defensive linemen that stood out Sunday evening.
MVP – Brian Allen Brian Allen 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Marian Central Catholic | 2022 CT – 2022 DL – Marion Central
First look at Allen and you wouldn’t believe he’s just going to be a junior. Has a collegiate body already, but still room to add more weight. Long arms stood out. Was fast and agile, his athleticism stood out above his competition. His best football is ahead of him.
Best of the rest:
Jonathan Trudeau – 2021 OT/OG – Grayslake Central
Trudeau passes the look test. Long arms, with a very solid base. Has some room to grow on his upper-body. Moved his feet well and looks like with added weight would still be able to keep his agility. Good looking prospect.
Gabriel Krahn- 2021 OG/C – Mount Carmel
This young man has a great frame, thick in the arm and legs. Looked very fluid in drill work and showed solid footwork. Strength is not a concern, actually looked a bit light for his listed 280-pounds. Should be a guard or center at the next level.
Carmine Bastone Carmine Bastone 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Saint Charles North | 2021 IL – 2021 DL – St. Charles North
This is the second time I’ve seen Bastone live and he stood out both instances. Moves very well for his size, has good footwork. I like the motor he’s shown and Bastone has enough speed to drop back into pass coverage if needed.
Jack Hawkinson – 2021 DL – Lincoln-Way East
Another prospect that has a great frame to add weight. Moved well in agility drills and with solid footwork. Ran a good looking fourty on a slow track. There’s potential to play a hybrid defensive end / outside linebacker. That good of an athlete.
Also looked good:
Kameron Shaw – 2022 DL – Warren Township
Pablo Gennarelli – 2022 DL – St. Charles North
Jake Paulline – 2022 DL – Matea Valley
