How about this for a stat line, Eckhaus threw for 4,456 yards, 59 TD’s to only 9 interceptions. The kid even completed 70% of his passes! This is one of those ones I can’t seem to figure out. The production is there; the kids does a good job of climbing the pocket with his eyes downfield. When the protection breaks down, he can easily take off and get a first down with his legs. He’s even got solid touch on his deep ball. He has 3 FCS offers at the moment; I think he’s an FBS level kid who can make all the throws. Keep an eye on him during his senior season.
OL: Tyler Charbonneau, 6’3, 280, Clayton Valley
This kid plays nasty, with overall great knee drive. He’s fundamentally sound as a run blocker and consistently punches on a rise. Tyler plays from whistle to whistle and will do everything in his power to put a defender in the dirt. He’s well versed as a pass protector and can move laterally against counter moves. Right now, he holds one offer from Air Force, and I think this kid has the chance to at least pick up some more Non-Power five offers this season.
WR: Deshon Thompson, 5’10, 175, Northview
Thompson is an absolute burner at the wide receiver position. Once he catches the football, watch out because lightning could be striking quick. His cutting ability and body control are unparalleled and make him a tough runner in the open field. He plays on the outside for Northview, but will easily transition into a slot role at the next level. He currently holds 1 FBS offer from Utah State.
OL: Nathan Mejia, 6’3, 285, Cathedral
When you turn on the tape, you can’t help but notice the consistent movement Mejia gets on defenders. The kid can run too and will easily reach block defensive ends. He’s got a clean vertical set in pass protection and a strong punch that he uses to overwhelm defenders. He plays tackle at the moment, but I think he’s a guard at the next level. He’s a natural puller and can easily work up to the next level. He has one FBS offer from Nevada and a handful of FCS offers. I’d be shocked if more FBS schools didn’t come into the picture.
DL: Malachi Cooper, 6’4, 230, Serra (San Diego)
Cooper may be the biggest sleeper on this entire list. He’s a tall defensive end with really long arms that he uses to get extension on opposing offensive tackles. He’s equipped with quick hands that he utilizes to slap away an offensive linemen’s punch. He consistently split double teams on film and was able to make plays in the opposing team’s backfield. He produced too, totaling 11 sacks as a junior for Serra. Currently, his offer list is short; he holds 1 Division Two offer from Lake Erie. This is an FBS level talent, and someone needs to come in and scoop this kid up!
