Check out these five offensive linemen in the 2021 class this upcoming season.
Anthony Martinez – Rio Linda – Tackle
The Rio Linda Knights had a lot of talent on their roster last season as seven players were named All-Metro first or second-team. However, the Knights offensive line cannot be overlooked, especially with a player such as Anthony Martinez with his ability to be a powerful run blocker and pass protector. While primarily playing left tackle, he is a versatile player and has the speed to match up well against pass rushers in the backfield. His size and strength can also drive linemen off the line scrimmage. Martinez was on the roster for the Knights CIF State Division 5-AA title in 2018.
Cristian Salinas – Franklin (Elk Grove) – Tackle
Salinas is a two-way player as a defensive lineman along with spending most of his time at left tackle. With a quick first step, he puts defensive ends on their backs for both the run and pass game. He has toughness, good footwork, plays with full force until the whistle is blown, and can be depended on while on either side of the ball. According to his film, Salinas played in five of the Franklin Wildcats ten games last season but was named a top player to watch on the offensive line in the Sacramento Metropolitan Area for this upcoming season.
Jacob Bojorquez – Johansen – Guard
Bojorquez is one of the top offensive linemen in the district. He played right guard and was stellar in the run game creating gaps and having the ability to block downfield while having the speed to set screens and allow his running backs to continue to the play. For protecting the quarterback, he has awareness against opposing lineman and edge rushers to avoid pressure. Bojorquez was named Offensive Lineman of the Year for the Western Athletic Conference League (WAC). He was also just one of two juniors to be named to the All-District team on offense.
Tyler Keinath – Franklin (Elk Grove) – Guard
Keinath has become of the top guards in the section with an outstanding 2019 season and recently rated a two-star prospect. His physicality does not go unnoticed and can be relied on to control the inside for the run game. The athleticism and stonewall from not only Keinath but the entire offensive line helped improve the Franklin Wildcats rushing by 807 yards from 2018. Keinath is one of the Wildcats team captains and was one of the five players from the roster to be named All-Delta first-team. Senior (2021) linemen Michael Lloyd and Eric Mayol were named second-team, Kyle McCartney was an honorable mention. With Cristian Salinas, the Wildcats could have one of the top offensive lines in the section.
Vincent Carter – Granite Bay – Tackle
Carter’s name is quickly rising with offers potentially coming soon. He is a three-star prospect and ranked 14th for offensive tackles in the state. Carter is a tall and lengthy tackle with the capability to take full control of defensive ends. Cater has a great vision of linebackers attempting to tackle and quickly blocks for the ball carrier while the play continues. Look for Carter to receive more recognition during his senior season as his traits and skills will continue to add strength to the Granite Bay Grizzlies offensive line.
