On Sunday night, the No. 1 running back in New Jersey announced his commitment. St. Joe’s Montvale star Audric Estime Audric Estime 6'1" | RB St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ told the world that he will be attending Michigan State. This gives the Spartans three massive commitments from the state of New Jersey.
The movement began back in April when Kevin Wigenton Kevin Wigenton 6'5" | OL Hun | 2021 State NJ announced that he will be attending Michigan State. Wigenton is a 6’5 offensive guard from the Hun School. He is a physical force along the offensive line and will be dynamic at the next level. The offensive line talent continued with Geno VanDeMark Geno VanDeMark 6'4" | OL St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ ’s commitment to the Spartans. The St. Joe’s Montvale product is the top offensive lineman in the nation and he was able to sway his running back.
Estime is the third top-tier recruit to land in Lansing. He is the clear No. 1 running back in New Jersey. As a junior, Estime totaled 1,190 yards and 15 touchdowns on 173 carries. He rushed for 100 or more yards six times last season including a 261 yard, three touchdown performance against Seton Hall Prep.
Michigan State is getting a physical runner in Estime. He is a powerful back that likes to use his one cut style to find the hole and get up field. When running downhill, Estime is hard to catch and hard to bring down. He has done a lot of his work behind VanDeMark and that will continue in the Big Ten.
The Spartans have made it clear that they want to build their rushing attack and they have done so by landing recruits from New Jersey. These are impact players that can continue success for years to come at a historic program.
