Each week we see games won and lost in the trenches, proving that you need to have a cohesive O-Line to be successful. North Carolina always produces talented linemen and this year is no different. Here are the most underrated OL from Charlotte:
Jemarion Rushing Jemarion Rushing 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Monroe | 2021 State NC , OT, 6’3 and 290 lbs, Monroe HS
Rushing is a quick O-Lineman that moves well for his size and uses his nimble feet to pass block defensive ends trying to get around him. He can be used as a pulling tackle and possesses strong hand placement that allows him to control his opponents. This player uses his elite upper body strength to anchor himself in pass protection and always finishes the play until the whistle blows. He’s best at cut/seal blocks and one of the most physical linemen I’ve seen. Currently has one offer.
Omarion Rushing Omarion Rushing 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL Monroe | 2021 State NC , OL, 6’4 and 275 lbs, Monroe HS
Rushing is gap schemed offensive lineman that excels at the reach block and the double team block. He consistently drives defenders to the ground and delivers punishing pancakes as a run blocker. Omarion shows his dominance by moving opponents across multiple gaps and standing his ground in pass protection. He has a great ability to recover after getting beat and can reach the 2nd level with ease. Right now is offered by one school.
Austin Pronk Austin Pronk 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Weddington | 2021 State NC , OL, 6’5 and 285 lbs, Weddington HS
Pronk is a strong OL that clears lanes for his running back and puts himself in great positions to make a block. He is very good at knowing where to contact defensive linemen and has the play strength to run them backwards for at least 10 yards. Austin would be best used as a gap scheme run blocker at the college level. He’s solid in pass protection and can be relied on as a cut blocker. Has already committed to Davidson.
Nick Aderholt Nick Aderholt 6'0" | 250 lbs | OL Weddington | 2021 State NC , OG, 6’0 and 250 lbs, Weddington HS
Aderholt is an intelligent offensive lineman that knows how to pick up the blitz/stunt and get his hands on the opponents first. He gets his long arms around defenders, at a 90 degree angle to the RB, which helps him seal off the lane and clear holes. Nick displays excellent athleticism when used as a pulling guard and also in the screen game. He has the talent to manhandle other players as an anchor because of his elite lower body strength. Has 4 offers that includes Sewanee.
