There were many prospects to watch even though a smaller field due to the MSHSL’s decision to play football this fall. That caused about 10 or so teams in the My7on7 Fall League to drop out to focus on the upcoming high school season that starts practice tomorrow.
With this list of “game balls,” we take an in-depth look at the standouts from the Varsity 2A division of My7on7, which included programs from Minneapolis all the way up to St. Cloud and everywhere in between. Some of these kids are well known on PrepRedzone.com, and others are first-time mentions for their play today!
Preston Engen, QB, Minneapolis Southwest (2022)
Engen had not picked up a football for over two years. Still, six months ago, he recommitted football and worked on his game to the max to put himself out there as a football player too for the Lakers. Engen was a huge surprise today as I didn’t get a glimpse of how much of an arm this kid had last week! So new to Hudl, no film yet!
Karson Dobmier, QB, Waconia (2021)
Dobmeier is a very under the radar prospect that you won’t see much on film, but has mega arm strength! This kid’s arm strength is one of the best I have seen at My7on7, and I just can’t believe he has a total of one video on tape and is a senior. This kid is a prospect you need to watch live to see his game because you won’t see that big arm on film.
Jordan Schumann, QB, St. Cloud Cathedral (2022)
No Football Tape.
Max McEnelly Max McEnelly 5'10" | 205 lbs | ATH Waconia | 2023 State MN , RB, Waconia (2023)
Our #1 running back looked the part this afternoon. MeEnelly is such a super athlete, it’s going to be fun to watch him for three more years and see what types of next-level options he will entertain!. Division I grade.
Jaden Reed Jaden Reed WR Minneapolis Southwest | 2021 State MN , WR/DB, Minneapolis Southwest (2021)
If I had to handout an MVP award yesterday, it would have been to Jaden Reed Jaden Reed WR Minneapolis Southwest | 2021 State MN of Minneapolis Southwest. When you lose track of how many touchdowns a kid has or how many PBUs and INTs he has it’s a real good thing. Reed holds one offer from Bemidji State and is another kid that I don’t think the film does justice; you have to make the trip to Lakers country to fully see what he can offer you.
McCabe Dvorak, WR/DB, St. Louis Park (2021)
Max Henke, WR, St. Cloud Cathedral (2021)
Taylor Day, WR, Fairbault (2021)
Sam Koppi, WR, Waconia (2022)
No Tape.
Gunnar Woods, WR, Mahtomedi (2022)
No Tape.
Kyle Oswald, DB, Mahtomedi (2021)
Derric Standifer, DB, St. Louis Park (2021)
No Tape
Ty Decker, LB, Mahtomedi (2021)
