Many prospects took this opportunity to showcase what they have been working on all offseason long. Most of the big-time players in the country showed up and didn’t disappoint. This article here will feature some of the best prospects to watch from week one with college potential.
A.J George – 6’1, 170
TE/LB, Ottawa Hills 2023
A.J is the son of former D1 football defensive coordinator, Brian George. A.J. has a nice frame that should allow him to be over 200lbs by Senior year. As for on the field, George can split out wide and hurt teams with his speed and receiving skills. A.J. continues to show as a 2023 prospect, he can compete at a high level while making big plays for the Green Bears in week one.
Ty’Waun Clark – 6’2, 175
QB, Central Catholic 2023
Ty’Waun Clark has made his first impressions at Q.B. for the fighting Irish vs. Lima Senior in the week one match up. The flashes of a future big-time prospect continue to show on film as he made some great escapes from the backfield along with throwing an accurate ball. Although he is not the starter, expect to see Clark get more reps as he seems to be the Q.B. of the future for the fighting Irish. I can only compare him to Lamar Jackson when I think of other Q.B.s.
Cole Tishler – 6’0, 160
Kicker, Central Catholic 2022
Having an excellent special team unit is one of the most important weapons a program can have, especially with a shortened season. Cole showcased his ability to kick multiple touchbacks during week one vs. Lima Senior. Keep an eye on this prospect.
Isaiah Funches-Foster – 6’0, 170
Cornerback, Lima Senior 2022
One of the most challenging jobs on the football field is being on an island with the best W.R.s in the area. Isaiah showed that he was more than up for the challenge vs. Central Catholic as he put on a clinic on how to cover the deep ball. Funches – Foster’s ability to fight for the ball in the air along with his fluid hips, keeps him on many scouts radars. Expect big plays from the 2022 budding star D.B.
Dakari Frazier 6’4, 245
DE, Pickerington Central 2022
Frazier had a chance to make the most of playing his rival week one and along with that game on ESPN. Let’s say he didn’t disappoint! Dakari has FBS explosiveness to go along with his strength and frame. Dakari has more room to grow, standing at 6’4 245, which could make him a better D.T. prospect in some college scout’s eyes. Frazier is now starting to get some D1 offers and has a chance to be an outstanding player in the loaded Ohio 2022 class.
