The St. Edmond football team has zeroed in on this coming Friday night for the past several weeks.

One of just a handful of unbeaten teams left standing in Class A, the Gaels travel to Britt to take on defending state champion West Hancock.

"It is a great opportunity to play them," St. Edmond senior Parker Oswald said. "It's the game we've been waiting for since Week 1. This game will be perfect for our team because it is going to show us what type of team we are."

The Gaels enter off three consecutive wins, including a 53-27 triumph over North Union last Friday night. Oswald had his breakout game, catching six passes for 142 yards including a touchdown.

He also hauled in a pair of key third-down receptions from classmate Drew Schaeffer in the fourth to help seal the win, highlighted by a long touchdown.

"The feeling from catching those third-down passes was a great one," Oswald said. "Those are the type of plays that you have to make all game in order to be successful as a team.
