I knew beforehand some talented WRs and DBs would be in attendance; what I didn’t realize is the amazing QB play that I was about to witness.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at the QBs who put on a show this past weekend.
Blake Ellingson Blake Ellingson 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB Libertyville | 2021 IL | Libertyville ’21
Ellingson’s accuracy and poise are what stood out the most this past weekend. Nothing seemed to rattle him and he appeared confident in his abilities the entire day. It didn’t matter if he was throwing it short, intermediate, or deep, he consistently delivered his throws on time and on-target. Displayed the ability to manipulate the defense and throw his receivers open. Easily should be considered one of the best QBs in Lake County.
Phillip Hird | Warren ’21
Hird is a fantastic athlete who has a solid physique. At first sight, you wouldn’t think he plays the QB position by the way he’s built, but after watching him throw this weekend, there’s no doubt that he’s a legit QB. His footwork is off the charts and it allows him to move throughout the pocket with little-to-no-effort. Displayed above-average arm-strength and accurately hit his targets in all the levels of the passing game.
Eric Franklin | Zion ’21
Franklin showed excellent arm strength and managed to pull off one of the prettiest thrown deep balls of the day. But where he impressed most was in the short/intermediate passing game. He got the ball out quickly and consistently hits his receivers in the numbers and in stride.
