Many 2022 players were considered for this list, and there are plenty of additional players that are worthy of being recognized. Do not get discouraged if you didn’t make the list this time, as I will do another one later in the season to recognize additional deserving players.
That being said… Here are six 2022 prospects that don’t currently have D1 offers, but are capable of earning D1 offers from a football evaluation standpoint
- OL Sam Buras Sam Buras 6'8" | 325 lbs | OL Center Grove | 2022 State IN – Center Grove, 2022
Sam Buras Sam Buras 6'8" | 325 lbs | OL Center Grove | 2022 State IN has the Size of a Power 5 OL prospect right now. You don’t see a ton of massive prospects that move as well as he does at his size. He has some nasty to him, imposes his will physically, flashes a great punch, and is a leader on the OL for one of the best programs in all of Indiana. Had their been a Spring Eval period, and college camps this past spring and summer, I have a feeling Sam would already have some D1 offers. In my opinion it is only a matter of time before his first offer to comes through. Due to Covid recruiting restrictions, a lot of teams are waiting until they can see a prospect in person before they offer, but as soon as that is able to happen… I think the offers will start to roll in.
- LB Aiden Krein – Zionsville, 2022
Having a college ready frame is one of the biggest variables when it comes to getting early D1 offers. With the premium that D1 coaches put on size now a days, recruiting prospects that already fit that physical profile is huge! Legit size is one less thing for coaches to worry about when it comes to predicting development. It is hard enough for a college coach to project a future skill-set when evaluating prospects, so not having to project size makes the evaluation process a lot easier. I bring this up, because Aidan already has the frame that D1 teams are looking for, and it adds value to how coaches will view him as a prospect. The Jr LB/ATH flashes a high level of athleticism at his size, excels in block destruction, and is physical at the point of attack. He will continue to evolve as a player, and Aiden Krein is a prospect that will be on plenty of D1 radars.
- WR Amarion Moore Amarion Moore 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Concord | 2022 State IN – Concord, 2022
You are probably starting to see a trend here, but Amarion is a WR that already has the frame college coaches are looking for. When you turn on the film, you see a prospect that is very fluid at his size. He shows great balance, body control, and he has the speed to stretch the field. I love his ability after the catch, which is much better than a lot of young WR prospects who possess his height. Once again, there are plenty of variables when it comes to offering a prospect, but strictly from a football evaluation… This is a kid that should have D1 offers sooner rather than later.
- WR Cael Vanderbush- Plainfield, 2022
Coaches love multi-sport athletes for a number of reasons. Not only does it show a well rounded athlete who competes as much as possible… It can also indicate that a prospect hasn’t tapped out their football potential, as they haven’t spent 100% of their time focused on football and football only. Cael has a great frame, a high level of mobility for a player at his height, and he is a potential scholarship player in basketball as well. With the frame and physicalness of a TE, and the athleticism of a WR, you begin to see the value that he can bring to any program that is going to recruit him. Whether it is basketball of football, I believe Cael with have D1 offers when it is all said and done.
- ATH/LB Dh’Mari Wright- Andrean, 2022
Wright is a player that I projected as a potential D1 talent after his sophomore season, but after turning on the Jr film… I think he has shown that he is not only a D1 prospect, but a player that could get interest at the Power 5 level. He has played a number of positions in HS, and could potentially slot in a few spots at the college level. But, after evaluating this years film, I’m beginning to think his highest upside is as an OLB prospect. He has great length, can play in space, and can rush the passer. He is also athletic enough to play underneath coverage, carry a TE vertical, and he moves well in space. His development and frame are two things that have me excited about him right now. There is no question that D1 coaches will be keeping a close eye on him this season.
- OL Tyson Miller- Lafayette Jefferson, 2022
I have mentioned Tyson in other articles this season due to his dominant play on the OL, and the way that Lafayette Jefferson has been able to run the ball. With great size, impressive feet, ability to pull from the OT position, and his ability to work to the second level / block in space… You begin to see how much he brings to the table as a prospect. As all young OL prospects with his size do, he will continue to develop and get more consistent with his pad level. That being said, he already flashes a high level of ability in those important areas. I would be shocked if he doesn’t end up with multiple offers when it is all said and done.
