There are a handful of talented quarterbacks in the area, and here are a few of the underrated quarterbacks in the St. Louis area for this week.
Chris Cotton Trinity Catholic High School c/o 23. This young prodigy is most likely one of the next future prospects in St. Louis. The 5-foot-10 sophomore had 1,612 passing yards and 16 TDs his freshman year. He also led his team all the way to the state semifinals. The coaches stated that Cotton is way more poised than he was last year, and he’s shaping up to have another successful year.
Cotton has caught attention from different schools, and he is also ranked 37th out of the class of 2023 players in the country. Being one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the area, the young gun slinger can throw downfield while scrambling, and can hit any of his targets across the field. When in trouble, Cotton doesn’t hesitate to show off his wheels as well.
Reagan Andrew MICDS c/o 22. Andrew is a natural-born leader out the gate. Well respected by his team and coaches, he has been the starting quarterback of the Red Rams since his freshman year. Andrew may be undersized for a quarterback, but he is still one of the best in the area. During the offseason, Andrew and his teammates would meet up and work out on the field. They also participated in whole team workouts this past summer, building chemistry with his receivers and the rest of the offense.
During his freshman year Andrew threw for 1,708 passing yards and 17 TD. He also outplayed defenses with his feet, rushing for 331 yards and 7 TDs. Andrew broke his hand last year, causing him to miss half of the season. But he looked better than ever during practice. Andrew said that he’s looking forward to putting up his passing numbers this year, since they have a good receiving core. He’s eager to feed these esurient receivers the ball.
Head Coach Fred Bouchard had many positive things to say about Andrew as well. He stated that he is a great leader to this team, and that everybody looks up to him to lead them. Coach Bouchard also said that he has a great cannon, and that he is spot on with his targets. “He may not be the biggest quarterback, but he can sure play his heart out.”
Andrew not only plays football, but he’s an all-around athlete. He plays on the basketball team during the winter, and a baseball player during the spring time.
Hasaan Cody Jennings High School c/o 21. Cody is an all around 6-foot athlete that can play any offensive skilled position. He was a huge asset to the Warriors last year on the receiving side, but now his coaches stated that Cody has proven himself to take the role as the quarterback of the offense. Last year he put up some decent numbers all around, having 85 yards at receiver, running the ball for 21 yards, and also contributing on the defensive side, having 17 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack. The coaches also said that he is more focused than last year to help lead his team to a great season.
Be on the lookout for these three QB1s this fall.
