Rabun County vs. Prince Avenue Christian
The state’s biggest game will be played way up in the North Georgia mountains in Rabun County. This will be a matchup between two of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation in 2023 QB Gunner Stockton Gunner Stockton 6'1" | 220 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2022 State GA and 2022 QB Brock Vandagriff Brock Vandagriff 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Prince Avenue Christian School | 2021 State GA . Vandagriff, a Georgia Bulldog commitment at Prince Avenue Christian, is coming off a 6-touchdown performance in an 42-7 win over Calvary Day. Stockton, a South Carolina commitment, is coming off an incredible freshman season last fall and is on pace to rewrite the passing record in the state of Georgia at the end of his career. This one is easily one of the biggest games of the season.
Valdosta at Tift County
The legendary Valdosta Wildcats have aspirations of a state-champion season under head coach Rush Propst after a big 28-25 win over a very good Warner Robins team. Quarterback Jake Garcia, a USC Trojans commit, is one of the top 2021 prospects in the country. The Wildcats also have impressive 2022 cornerback JaDarian Rhym who continues to show why one of the top defensive back prospects in the state. Garcia will have to avoid Tift County star defensive lineman Tyre West throughout the night if he wants to come out with a victory. West is ranked as one of the top defensive line prospects in the entire 2022 class and holds major offers from across the country.
McEachern vs. Grayson
Two 7A powers will collide in Powder Springs on Friday night as the legendary Grayson Rams will take on McEachern. The Rams will be without quarterback Carlos Del Rio Carlos Del Rio 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Grayson | 2021 State GA , who transferred from McEachern, but they still have multiple weapons on offense including Clemson RB commit Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA and Georgia Tech RB/WR commit Jamal Haynes Jamal Haynes 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Grayson | 2021 State GA . Indian quarterback Bryce Archie Bryce Archie 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB McEachern | 2022 State GA , an impressive 2022 prospect, will try to bounce back after a tough opening weekend loss to North Gwinnett.
West Forsyth at Cartersville
In one of the bigger games in North Georgia, The Wolverines from Cumming will travel west to take on the always impressive Cartersville Hurricanes. The ’Canes are coming off a 42-0 win over Mays and are striving for another state championship. The Wolverines may have their best team in school history, led by UGA offensive line commitment Dylan Fairchild Dylan Fairchild 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL West Forsyth | 2021 State GA and 2022 tight end Oscar Delp Oscar Delp 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE West Forsyth | 2022 State GA . The Wolverines are looking good, but we’ll see how good they really are on the road against an excellent Cartersville program.
