Football season is right around the corner in New Jersey. Some of the top rushers from a season ago will be back on the field. Let’s find out which returning players who made an impact in 2019 will look for more of the same as the season approaches.

Frank RiggioFrankRiggio5'8" | RBVerona | 2021StateNJ, Verona, Sr. – Riggio enters his senior year as the top rusher from a season ago, accumulating 2,055 yards on 272 attempts. He ran for a score in every game but one and carried for 100 or more yards in nine games. His season-best was a 314-yard, six-touchdown performance in a win over Kinnelon. In total, Riggio ran for 37 TDs. Riggio is a favorite to be the state’s top rusher once again.

Ali Lee Jr.AliLee Jr.5'11" | ATHWoodbridge | 2021StateNJ, Woodbridge, Sr. – Lee Jr. was the state’s third rusher a year ago, running for 1,873 yards on 296 attempts, with 21 touchdowns. He totaled 257 yards on 28 carries with two TDs in a victory over Colonia last September.
