1) TUTTLE 42, CUSHING 21
#3 Tuttle opened up district play on Friday night against #6 Cushing. Tuttle would dominate from start to finish in a 42-21 victory. Tuttle handled Cushing’s young sophomore class that is full of talent. Tuttle was led by a sophomore on their own with running back

, who finished the game with three touchdowns. Two on the ground and one receiving touchdown. Check out the HIGHLIGHTS from Tuttle’s big win and hear from head coach Brad Ballard following the win.
2) BISHOP KELLEY 17, McALESTER 14
It appears that you can just never consider Bishop Kelley done this season. The Comets have rallied in multiple games in the second half to claim victory and they did it again on Friday night. Bishop Kelley and McAlester played this one close throughout but the Comets would score in the second half to put McAlester away for good. This game was close throughout and both teams certainly showed that they’re among 5A’s best. The Comets were able to get a little revenge after losing to McAlester late last season.
3) PIEDMONT AT GUTHRIE – CANCELLED
We’ve had plenty of games that have been cancelled so far this season. In fact, week four saw the highest amount of games be cancelled. Unfortunately for some teams, they didn’t find out until hours before kickoff. This was one of those instances. Piedmont was minutes away from the stadium when they were notified that the game would not take place. A similar situation happened in Enid where they had to cancel their game with Jenks, despite teams being on the field for pregame warm up’s.
4) MIDWEST CITY 34, LAWTON 9
The Bombers continue to show that they could be one of the more underrated teams in Class 6A-D2. They looked fantastic on Friday night in their district opener against Lawton. They walked out with a 34-9 victory and get a huge district win that will without a doubt go towards playoff seeding in November. A loss puts Lawton in a position where they can’t afford to lose many more games in a district that is much more competitive than we gave it credit for before the season began in August.
5) CHOCTAW 26, BOOKER T WASHINGTON 22
In arguably the game of the night, Choctaw continued to be road warriors and had a very happy bus ride back home. For the third time in four weeks, they played on the road and opened up play against a very talented Booker T Washington team. A late touchdown would give the Yellowjackets the win over the Hornets. Choctaw will continue to be road warriors in a few weeks when they take on reigning champion Bixby. With a win over Booker T Washington, Choctaw’s playoff hopes skyrocket.
6) COWETA 56, EDISON 7
This was a final score that without a doubt made us do a double take. We thought that Coweta would be the favorite coming into this district clash with Edison but not a 49-point favorite. The Tigers absolutely smashed the Eagles as junior quarterback

continues to have a fantastic season. For the second straight week, Hamm put up some monster numbers. He threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns as Coweta continues to climb up the Class 5A rankings and look to be a legit threat.
7) POTEAU 38, HILLDALE 24
There’s no way that this doesn’t sound like a cliche but Poteau showed the heart of a champion in their win over Hilldale. The defending 4A champions have had a bumpy start to the season after playing a brutal non-district schedule. They also came into Friday’s game with Hilldale missing several starters. Despite that, the Pirates showed that they’re still a big threat in 4A with an impressive 38-24 victory over Hilldale. We certainly tip our cap to the Pirates as they showed that they should not be overlooked anymore.
8) NORMAN NORTH 42, MUSTANG 14
Normally, the top ten round up comes out on Saturday, as all the games are usually done by Saturday. However, we had some Saturday night football in Mustang as they hosted Norman North in a big district opener. The Timberwolves made quite the statement by going on the road and running all over the Broncos, winning 42-14. While the king of 6A-D1 is Owasso, Norman North is certainly an interesting team to look at as being a darkhorse this season. And Norman North will get to see where they stand as they host Owasso on Friday.
9) OWASSO 34, UNION 14
This game played out the way we thought it would coming into the week. Owasso is without a doubt the top team in Oklahoma right now and they showed why as they opened district play. Union kept it close at first but they just didn’t have enough to keep up with the defending state champs. Owasso knocked off Union 34-14 to send Union back to Tulsa with their first 0-4 start in decades. Owasso safety Gage Laney came up with three interceptions in the win. With those INT”s, he’s now the school’s all time leader in that category.
10) BLANCHARD 46, JOHN MARSHALL 33
Week four kicked off with a bang on Thursday night as Blanchard and John Marshall had fireworks going all night long. Granted, a lot of those fireworks were started by errors as both teams had to deal with turnovers throughout the night. However, it was Blanchard that made the most of their extra opportunities and kicked off district play with a big win in Oklahoma City against John Marshall. The Lions needed to get a win after a slow start to the season due to a brutal non-district schedule.
