Every Monday, we preview the top ten games across the state of Oklahoma. Now on Saturday’s, we’ll take a look back at those top ten games and discuss the results, who stood out and where each team goes from here.
1) JOHN MARSHALL 14, HERITAGE HALL 12
It was our game of the week and it lived up to the hype. John Marshall hosted perennial powerhouse Heritage Hall and got out with a 14-12 victory. They spent the last two seasons as district rivals but now they met in the final non-district tune-up before next week. John Marshall needed one stop to hold on for the win and they got it on Heritage Hall’s two-point conversion. The Chargers scored a touchdown with less than a minute to play but the conversion was no good and the Bears escaped with the big win. As John Marshall has moved up to Class 4A this season, this win gives them a ton of momentum.
2) CASHION 28, THOMAS 7
This was the first of two games in Class A that feature two top ten teams. This was without a doubt the main event in Class A on Friday night as #2 Cashion hosted #4 Thomas. The Wildcats knew that this was going to be a big measuring stick game going in and they found out just how good they can be in the Class A big picture. They came out and played well, scoring the 28-7 win over Thomas. Junior quarterback

had another big night, throwing for three touchdowns in the win. But the big story with Cashion this season has without a doubt been the defense. It has been outstanding so far and continued on Friday.
3) LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 35, JONES 21
Lincoln Christian used a big second half to knock off visiting Jones 35-21. The Longhorns led the Bulldogs 21-7 at halftime and it looked like they would roll to the big road win. However, Lincoln’s defense completely shut down the Jones offensive attack in the second half. On offense, they used a combination of

to take the lead and never looked back. Check out all of the highlights from Lincoln Christian’s win and hear from head coach Jerry Ricke following the win. Lincoln’s performance in the second half will certainly give them some momentum going into district play in a couple weeks.
4) BISHOP McGUINNESS 28, BOOKER T WASHINGTON 17
Originally, the #4 game was supposed to feature Del City traveling to Bishop McGuinness. Del City couldn’t play, so McGuinness reached out and found another 6A-D2 power in Booker T Washington. The two teams agreed to play just a few days before the game actually happened.

led the Irish to a 28-17 victory over the visiting Hornets. The Irish defense did their part as well, containing a dangerous Booker T Washington offense. The Irish bounced back from their rivalry loss to Bishop Kelley with a huge win over the Hornets. For Booker T Washington, it’s their first loss and they open up district play next week against Choctaw.
5) CUSHING 27, BERRYHILL 17
This one you can’t help but feel a couple things. First, Cushing is the real deal and Class 4A is going to be challenged by this young and talented team. Second, Berryhill has been waiting and waiting and fall short in what was their season opener. They have had to wait for the last three weeks, while other teams were playing and getting into their seasons. Berryhill finally took the field on Friday night but came up short to Cushing. The Chiefs are still going to be one of the better 3A teams. But Cushing is now 3-0 and has looked really good so far this season. The scariest part is their two best players are just sophomores.
6) YUKON 41, NORMAN NORTH 24
Similar to Jones-Lincoln Christian, this 6A-D1 non-district clash was a complete tale of two halves. Norman North led Yukon 17-13 at halftime but it was all Yukon after that. They would outscore the T’Wolves 28-7 in the second half to roll to the 41-24 victory. Judging the final score alone won’t tell the full story of this game as Yukon had a complete turnaround to get the job done. Leading the way for Yukon was Triston Brooke, who finished with four touchdowns in the win. Yukon improves to 2-1 and they’ll be a dangerous team to handle in district play. Norman North will look to bounce back and have an extra day to prepare for Mustang next week.
7) COWETA 42, MUSKOGEE 21
This was supposed to be Coweta’s home opener but once again playing on the road didn’t slow down the Tigers as they beat up on Muskogee 42-21. The Tigers led 35-14 at halftime and put it on cruise control in the second half. The Tigers got out to the fast start and put the Roughers away. The Tigers were led by junior quarterback

. The dual-threat playmaker threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns and also added over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He only threw one incompletion on the evening. Muskogee now has to regroup in a hurry. The Roughers are 0-3 as they enter one of the toughest districts in the state.
8) HOLLAND HALL 42, METRO CHRISTIAN 7
In case you haven’t been paying attention this season, Holland Hall is the real deal, and it’s not just

, who continues to light up the scoreboard every single week. When the new rankings drop on Sunday, Holland Hall will be the new top dog in Class 3A and as of right now, they look like the favorite to win it all. For Metro Christian, it’s time to refocus as they head into a tough district, looking to defend their title.
9) PAWHUSKA 64, HOMINY 22
This rivalry game was an absolute blowout. Pawhuska made quick work of rival Hominy in the other match-up that featured two top ten teams in Class A. Pawhuska, like Cashion made quite the statement with their 42-point win over Hominy on Friday night. Pawhuska jumped out early and often in the win. They led 52-8 at halftime and really just put it on cruise control after that. Star quarterback

continued to put up monster numbers in an offense that has gotten off to a great start so far in 2020. They will certainly be a force to be reckoned with throughout the 2020 season.
10) MUSTANG 34, NORMAN 33 (OVERTIME)
A game that wasn’t originally in our top ten for games. In fact, it took a couple games to be cancelled for Mustang-Norman to get bumped into the top ten and it ended up being one of the more entertaining games of week three. Go figure. Mustang survived the final week of non-district play with a 34-33 win over the Tigers in a game that went to overtime. Mustang scored first in the extra period and Norman would follow. However, instead of kicking the PAT and sending it to double overtime, Norman would go for the win, but fall short. A fade pass to OSU commit
