The 2020 season is in full swing across the state of Oklahoma. And while the season gets going, recruiting is as important as ever. As of right now, Oklahoma’s 2021 class has 29 prospects currently committed. The 2021 class appears to be deep, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Every Wednesday, we’ll spotlight five prospects that are still deciding their college futures. Today’s post features five players that are five of the most underrated athletes that play a variety of positions in the 2021 class.

– Wide Receiver/Cornerback – Edmond Santa Fe
We kick off the list with a player that has been committed for the last month but recently opened up his recruitment. Edmond Santa Fe’s

committed to Navy back in late August. However, because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent NCAA decision to continue the recruiting dead period, Rankin felt it was best to reopen his recruitment since he would not be able to make an official visit to the Naval Academy anytime soon. Rankin is a great WR/CB combo player where it’s tough to make a decision on where he’s most valuable. On offense, he’s a prototypical slot receiver with great hands. On defense, he’s just as important for Santa Fe.

has the Wolverines on top of Class 2A and right now they’re the favorites to win the gold ball. Wright has taken his game to another level as he enters his senior season. He plays both sides of the ball for the Wolverines but the flashy side of Wright’s game comes as their quarterback. He’s certainly a run first threat at QB as he’s only passed the ball five times all season. He hasn’t needed to. He has over 750 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry. However, he’s also one of the top cover corners in the state. It’s not as flashy as what he does at QB, but he’s special on defense.

is one of the state’s top kickers and he continues our theme of fantastic athletes that play multiple positions. Ward is an outstanding linebacker on defense and has been a threat on offense as a tight end. But when it comes to what he is at the next level, make no mistake about it, he’s a kicker and a punter prospect. Oklahoma has had a great run recently with All American-caliber kicker prospects and this year is no different. In fact, we have a few. Southmoore’s

Stillwater High School should be a hotbed for college coaches as they have several of the top available prospects in the 2021 class. Another example of just that is jumbo athlete

. We have several big time athletes on this list but McEndoo’s game is a little different from the other prospects. As a jumbo athlete, McEndoo is best served near the line of scrimmage as a fullback, tight end or on defense as a lineman. However, you can’t deny what McEndoo has been able to do during his time at Stillwater. No matter where he lines up on the field, he’s making plays. We don’t understand why the phones at Stillwater aren’t ringing off the hook.

has put up some monster numbers as a running quarterback for the Irish. Tarman has had an outstanding start to his senior season. He plays both ways for the Irish but you can’t help but love what he does on offense. Lining up at quarterback, Tarman is definitely a run-first threat but he has shown some abilities in the passing game. But in their biggest games, he’s always performed and played well in the run game. In last week’s win, he accounted for just shy of 500 yards of total offense. There’s good athletes in this class but few playmakers are as reliable as Tarman.
