There are so many good quarterbacks in the state that we could run an Under the Radar for each area of the state, and perhaps we will, but for now, we’ll look at four quarterbacks that aren’t getting the recognition they deserve.
Nebanye Moore Nebanye Moore 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Statesville | 2021 NC , 6’1 205, Statesville
Moore doesn’t have a lot of the recruiting interest of his peers, but we’ve ranked him in the FCS range. He’s poised in the pocket, has a strong arm and makes good decisions. Teams are missing out on Moore, who has the ability to enroll early. He’s performed well on the camp circuit, and we’re surprised more colleges haven’t come after him.
Austin Grier Austin Grier 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Vance | 2021 State NC , 5’11 185, Vance
Grier is a state champion signal caller with a good arm and excellent grasp of the offense. He’s a high-academic, high-character player that is attracting interest from some prestigious academic universities. He’s a bit on the smaller side, but he’s accurate and makes good decisions.
Evan Bernard Evan Bernard 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Cuthbertson | 2021 State NC , 6’1 185, Cuthbertson
Bernard waited a long time to pick up momentum on the recruiting trail, but since then he’s racked up quite a few Division 3 offers. WE wouldn’t be surprised to see a few bigger schools jump in later this cycle. Bernard has excellent touch on his deep ball and does not get enough credit for his running ability. He throws from a wide base which gives him more zip on his passes.
Will Lenard Will Lenard 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Northern Guilford | 2021 State NC , 6’1 185, Northern Guilford
Lenard has a great arm and combines it with great accuracy on his deep throw. He excels on throws that require both touch and throwing to a spot — throws that display his accuracy. He’s starting to pick up steam in recruiting, earning offers from a few Division 3 schools in the last month or so.
