Isaiah Paige | DL | Saginaw
Paige was a force against Midland during the opening week. He finished the game with eleven tackles and two sacks in a tough 48-0 loss. Paige (6’4″, 265) is a big, strong kid that looks like he could play college football right now, but right now he seems like an unknown player in the 2022 class. He currently holds one offer from Olivet, but his recruitment should really pick up as this season progresses.
Leeshaun Mumpfield | QB | Cass Tech
Mumpfield beat out fellow sophomore Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'0" | 210 lbs | QB River Rouge | 2023 State MI for the starting quarterback job and he certainly showed us why Saturday afternoon. He completed 15 of 28 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns in a big 34-26 win over Detroit King. The lefty is small in stature, but he is talented and I’m interested to see how he performs the rest of the season and what college interest he begins to see.
Brayden Courser Brayden Courser 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Detroit Catholic Central | 2023 State MI | LB | Catholic Central
Courser was very productive 21-12 win over Harper Woods. The sophomore racked up fourteen tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble Friday night. He hasn’t picked up much recruiting interest yet, but I fully expect him to see some D1 interest by the end of this season.
Ethan Clark | RB | Clarkston
Clark had a breakout game in a 24-17 win over Southfield on Friday night. The sophomore gained well over 100 yards on the ground and finished the game with two scores. Clark is a workhorse for Clarkston and should get himself on plenty of college coach’s radars if he keeps having games like this.
Myles Walton Myles Walton 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Muskegon | 2022 State MI | DB | Muskegon
With star quarterback Amari Crowley Amari Crowley 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Muskegon | 2021 State MI out, Walton had to step in and carry the load. He rushed for 133 yards on just 11 attempts and scored four times while tacking on four pass completions on six attempts for 52 yards. He projects best on defense, but he is truly a two-way playmaker that will certainly receive more than the two D1 offers he has picked up so far.
