The series of Corky Kell classic games included Dacula High School vs. Brookwood High School. Not only did this game deliver with its star studded features, but the game ended with a final score of 42-34, with Brookwood High School finding itself on top in 4OT. Yes, you read that correctly, 4OT.
In this game, one player in particular stood out, and that player was none other than 2022 WR, De’Nylon Morrissette. Morrissette, who transferred from St. Frances, in Maryland, had a career game, as he totaled 12 catches, for 219 yards. Within those 12 catches, he scored 3 TD’s, and was a big contributing factor to Brookwood’s win over Dacula Friday night.
During the game, Morrissette showed off his ability to catch the ball cleanly, and with strong hands. He also showed that he has a bit of elusiveness and twitch to him as well, as he managed to shake defenders, and break tackles. This resulted in the large amount of yards that you see above, which was largely achieved after the catch. With this, by no mistake, he found his way in the end zone three times, resulting in game changing points for his team.
College coaches loved his performance, and within the first 12 hours after this game, he received plenty of calls and attention from multiple Power 5 schools across the country. By the end of the weekend, Morrissette had received offers from schools such as Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and Arkansas. Needless to say, his play spoke for itself, and he provided himself a great start to his junior year
