Here is a scouting report and summary of some of the best offensive performances from Week Three.
QB, Deven McEwen, Lebo – McEwen, a senior quarterback, guided the Lebo Wolves to a 52-6 victory over Waverley. He threw for 229 yards and five touchdowns. Lebo is now 3-0 and at 6’3” McEwen has the height and the arm to play quarterback in college. He has thrown for 11 total touchdowns in three games.
QB, Garrett Maltbie, Canton Galva – Maltbie, arguably is the best dual-threat quarterback in eight-man football. He rushed for 207 yards and threw for 186 yards in the Eagles 48-0 win over Washington County. Maltbie found the end zone three times on the ground. The Canton-Galva senior could end up being one of the most widely recruited Kansas Eight-Man Athletes.
WR, Garrett Robison, Burlingame – Robison has three touchdown catches in Burlingame’s 54-6 win over Hartford. He finished with 129 yards receiving in the Bearcats’ second win of the season. Robison could be an impact player at the JUCO level, but he also is a solid basketball prospect. Robison now has six touchdown receptions in three games.
RB, Cooper Weinhold, Wilson – Weinhold is having a great season for the Wilson Dragons. In a Week Three 70-22 win over Tescott, he rushed for a season-high 215 yards. He found the end zone three times and now has eight touchdowns in three games. Cooper is quick, breaks tackles, and has helped Wilson get off to a 2-1 start.
RB, Trace Tassett, Spearville– Tassett, a member of the Class of 2021, rushed for 300 yards in Spearville’s 68-22 win over Ingalls. The Lancer running back scored six rushing touchdowns and now has 11 on the season. He has rushed for 605 yards in three games he projects as an NAIA or JUCO talent for the undefeated Lancers.
